My fiancé had my engagement ring custom made for me, and whilst I absolutely love it, it was supposed to be more shaped than it actually is… We went to look for wedding rings the other day and I was totally underwhelmed, nothing looks good against it because the shaping is so subtle and the diamond is set so low!!
The shop (who also made the E-ring) suggested we re-set the e-ring so wedding band will match, but at a cost of £700 of course (which has really annoyed me, as in my opinion they didn’t make it quite to spec in the first place!) if I went down this route I’d have a diamond set wedding band that would sit around the diamond, I’m wondering if this would distract from the beautiful diamond my fiancé picked? Have also considered having colour in my wedding band – probably aquamarine stones.
Anybody had a similar problem? What wedding ring did you go for?
Anyone got any bright ideas about what will work?

Why don’t you just wear your e-ring on your right hand and your wedding band on your left hand?

Maybe you could have your wedding band custom made, too?

Gemma1million: any possible way the store will discount the fee to reset due to their own error on the first ring?

I have a ring with a “slight” curve too. It’s not my ER though, it’s just a band. If I wanted to pair a matching ring with it, I would go the custom route.
In my opinion, anything other than custom would likely look awkward. Your ring, like mine, has such a slight curve that matching it with a straight band would make your lovely ER look bent.
Beautiful ER – I love the fact that it’s different. I can see a custom band adding to your look, not distracting from it.

MoissyManiac: thanks, this is the kind of thing I originally wanted… Although to make this work they’ll have to change the setting of the E-ring.

Bored6: I did think about this, but it just seems such a shame, plus it doesn’t actually fit on my right-hand 🙁

You could put a band on either side and have a gap. I actually rather like gaps! They give a larger presence without being bulky or heavy.

Your ring is soo pretty! You should definitely try some curved bands

If they stuffed up during the making process, why didn’t your fi, or you after receiving the ring, take it back? i would also suggest getting something made custom. It’s actually not much more $ wise so would totally be worth it. Unfortunately I doubt the store would cover the cost of a reset now.
