I got my proposal back from my florist & my tent company...pretty much everything's done on my side..so we're just waiting on the date! :) & my invites will be going out the end of this month...SO excited!!
What did you get done?!
I emailed my minister to start discussing the details of the ceremony and looked a bit at invitations. And bought some honeymoon lingerie!
Invitations are not as straightforward as I thought! We haven't found anything exactly right yet.
@starbit: Honeymoon lingerie?!?! Ohhh :) I'll have to be looking into some of that!!
& as for the invitiations...I know what you mean! My inspiration came from bellafigura.com! I LOVE their style!
Nothing! It was not a productive weekend and I'm bummed. We both kinda sucked this weekend. I did find out that the invitations will be $150 more than we planned on spending. I was supposed to pick up my ceremony dress but we ran out of time. And I was supposed to exchange my earrings (a crystal fell out, not cool) but we ran out of enegry. Oops. But this coming weekend we're getting A LOT done! We have our menu selection, I have got to get my veil (!), I'm picking out invitations that aren't $600, I don't care if I have to get out the crayola's. And, we're going dress shopping for my Mommy. All in 3 days... yikes!
Put a deposit down for the florist and finalized our contract :) And got the first draft for our save the dates!
@jennifer: That's okay! We've had un-productive weekends lots of times. We'll actually be dumb and go out and spend $$ on mexican food instead of putting $$ on our rings. Geez...so I feel you there! But it sounds like you've got a busy weekend ahead of you!
Yesterday was our RSVP deadlines, so I figured out how many OOT bags we'll need (37!) and when I go back before the wedding, we'll start putting them together. We also booked the hotel we'll stay at on the last night of our honeymoon at the airport...yay Hotwire.com! The wedding is coming SO SOON! EEEK!
@Mrs: WOW! Jan. 30th...that's exciting! How many people did you invite & how many people actually sent back the RSVP's?! I'm sending out my invites the end of this month & have a list of about 115 or so, and I'm hoping to actually have 100 guests!
@Lees4308- that's what we did this weekend too! We went to a comedy club and spent money we totally could of used for the invitations. Lol, we're silly. But we've limited the amount of times we go out and spend money so every once in awhile its ok! Hope the mexican food was good :)
I thought we would be BURSTING at the seams (250 max) but we ended up inviting 290 and 209 is our RSVP count. That doesn't mean that more won't dwindle in, but we told the caterer 200 because a)reception is short b) we know she'll make extra and c) since it's light appetizers it's ok if we run out of some things.
Mr. Library and I got all of our groomspeople together, got everyone fitted for tuxes (including the dads), got the groomswoman set with a dress idea and her sash to match the guys' ties, had a great dinner with all of them so they could bond, got 80 votives for the reception, looked into a videographer, and signed up for a new set of engagement pictures! Whew!
@jennifer: The mexican was AMAZING! I know what you mean about limiting the amount of $$ you spend...it sucks saving though! Geez!
@Mrs: That's a good #! I've heard some people say that you should expect half of your invitation list to actually show up. I hope that's not my case!
@Ms. Library: I actually forgot to say that too! The guys went out Saturday night to get fitted for tux's and to get a dinner! That's out of the way..thank goodness! Sounds like you had a productive weekend!
This weekend was veyr productive for us - we addressed half of our wedding invitations and purchased our wedding bands (way under budget I might add, yay!)
Went to a bridal show, got some great floral ideas and registered for tuxedos so we could get the special. I wanted to book a dj too, but they only had one company there, and we've heard terrible things, so we don't want to use them. The search continues. :P
Oh, and one more little thing--I picked up my wedding dress. :D Hurray!
Nothing. We suck. LOL. Went to dinner and saw Avatar instead. I thought about wedding stuff a lot, but unfortunately, this is one of those instances where the thought does NOT count.
We finished designing our invites (typing up everything and figuring out spacing). FI is going to print them today, and then I just have to cut and paste them into the invites I've already put together! I also just officially booked our officiant. Whew!
Our weekend was yesterday and today instead of the typical Sat/Sun. So we did some invite work, worked on our favour boxes, searched for a good online site that'll let us upload our photos easily and picked up FH's ring. We also had some last minute invites from my dad so we were busy getting their addresses. Now FH has gone to pick up the card that we ordered so we can crack on making our overseas invites that I ruined last week. Phew!
Lots of things! We found out our friend has agreed to be our officiant! We also tried out a bakery (mmmmm flavor tastings) but were sticker shocked at their prices. We'll keep looking (hello more tastings?). Also, we signed our florist's contract!
Successful weekend here! We met with our new (new to our church and new to us) pastor and he is AMAZING!!! super real and great great guy. In fact we talked for an hour and a half about not just the wedding but church stuff and becoming more active in our church, what a great feeling.
Also met with my MOH. We discussed everything from showers to parties to wedding DOC and how to set up tables and aisle decor, and music ideas.
I also have set up a playlist on my ipod for our ceremony music so when its all set and we added and deleted everything i can just burn it on a cd and take it to the church. Finally feel like some things are coming together.
Hmmm, I found my shoes online. I ordered my first BM gift, and decided that if my venue doesn't offer a DOC, I'm probably going to hire one.
I did a bunch of diy...still more to do.
I started scouting officiants and have narrowed it down to 2!
I was and am still searching for cute short sleeved hoodies that I can personalize for my girls to wear the day of as we go about the day on 06/19
I still feel like I have so much to do. Whew! Only a little over 5 months left. Geesh!
I dropped off my wedding ring to get sized!! YAY!!! Still have a lot to do - waiting on the STD envelopes to come so I can get those out ASAP!!
@msmonicka: I had just bought the ladies white hoodies and got their names embroidered on the back! I go pick them up today :) I'm so excited!! They'll be wearing those the day we're getting ready. I think that's a wonderful idea!
We got our e-pics taken yesterday (and got them all back this morning!!!!!) Called a couple hotels about block rates, have an appointment next weekend for food (yumm!), and finalized our color decisions! :)
Got the sample for my save the date and decided that's the one we're going with. Pretty much finalized the guest list. Found an alternate BM dress that is a little cheaper than the one we were looking at before.
Next step: addresses.
i started picking ceremony songs, decided on food, figured out who we want to officiate (now we just have to ask him!) and got my e-ring!!
@rosie - the cheapest places in town i found were red lion and holiday inn (both $129 for 10 rooms) but i only called the bigger places becuase my family is pretty picky about where they stay!!
@Mrs. Doe to be... YOU ARE SO CLOSE!!!!!!
I finished our wedding website this weekend! I know, a little late...
I collected about 30 addresses. Whew! We're in the meat of the really unglamorous tasks, but at least from now on I promise I will send out Holiday cards.
I feel that my weekend was productive! I went to my parents this weekend which is the location on the wedding! We went to the small town jewlery store's in my hometown and my fiance's and registered! We got our engagement picture proofs back and think we picked the picture for the save the date! I work in publishing so I am designing my own, so i am going to start on that today! Hopefully we can get them printed and done this weekend! Which means I must finalzie the guest list! We also made some decisions inclusing location of band, stage, tables, food, ect! Mom and I went shopping and bought the cute drink containers for the lemonade and sweet tea! Went to Party City to buy the dinner napkins, beverage napkins, ect! I am getting an embosser with our initials and embossing the cocktail napkins and the dinner napkins we are wrapping around the silverware and trying with raffita so we can start on that too! The best part was that we got them all 50% off with an unadvertised sale!
@angeleri2bee I know! It's weird that as time winds down, the to do list seems almost non-existent! It's like, what do I do NOW?!
Finished my website and wedding map. I had wanted to order invitations, but have to wait until I get paid. Grrrr...
Bought my spanx and worked on the invitations. They are not finished but they are one step closer! I also bought y wedding shoes this morning. I'm ALMOST ready for my dress fitting next Monday. :) Oh AND I think I finally got FI on the "we have to get things done because we only have two months left" bandwagon now! THAT was the biggest accomplishment!
I finalized the dresses my bridesmaids will wear (I had doubts on original choice, so we went and tried on more, and I found the ones...woo). We also revisited our budget and guest list, and prioritized what was important for us, after the vows (like photographer, cake, etc) and decided to use our resources to make sure we had those things, and worry less about other stuff that we don't really care about (like bubbles...as an example), so we will focus on what we want, and if we can't get bubbles due to budget restraints, we won't have bubbles, and it will be okay. We went to lunch with his parents at one of the places we are considering for our rehearsal dinner (it was yummy), just a few other places to taste test and then we will decide.
I also took a deep breath and reflected that the 'wedding' wasn't really anything to stress over, because the vows are what is important. So for me, I have decided to enjoy the planning and no longer stress over little things.
NOTHING! I was in Disneyworld :o) We did get our sample STD's in the mail over the weekend, so hoping to get those designed this week. I also ordered a sample of the invites I like, so hopefully we'll be getting those!
Ordered my "take out" box containers for the candy buffet, put a deposit on our table linens and worked on our reception table numbers with my MOH. I was actually pretty useful this weekend!
