We printed ours at home on 80# paper. Then we put it on a different color backing of the same weight to make the invites thicker and more sturdy.

We didn’t have any problems with the printer jamming. I have an epson artisan 710. We just had to make sure to set the settings to presentation paper, since it’s thicker, but it worked fine.

If you’re not sure you can order samples of just one sheet from most places. We got ours at paperandmore.com. I made a test set of the invite and enclosures just to make sure before we bought all of the paper.

We actually let Staples print them for us.  I was the same price as buying the paper/ink, etc. plus if it messed up, they replaced the paper!  They looked fabulous!

We used 80lb stock for the base and then for the border and for the text.  However, we got it printed at a printing shop though.

@MasqueradeMom: I second this recommendation. I recently made cards for my bridesmaids, and I had a lot of trouble fitting the cardstock through the printer w/o getting jammed. And on a laser printer, the toner flaked off a lot on the cardstock.

I’m now making invites for an eparty, and found a local printing business that will print them on 110 cover weight stock (not quite as thick as I want but good enough) and cut them for only $20 (I have 50 to print)

Staples will let you bring in your own or you can use their paper.  It was less expensive to use theirs.

I printed mine on 80# cardstock (which I attached to a pocketfold) and I didn’t have any issues printing. I have an HP all in one inkjet printer.
