Fiance and I have our first meeting with our priest tomorrow. We are having our wedding in an Episcopalian Church. It is our first time meeting the priest and visiting the church. We both live out of town but we are having our wedding in the city back home.
I’m a little nervous for the appointment! What were you asked during your first appointment? How did it go?

We are getting married in a Catholic Church (I’m Catholic and Fiance isn’t). Our first meeting with the priest was very laid back. He asked us general “getting to know you” questions like how old we are, where we’re from, where we live, careers, etc. It was done in a very conversational manner rather than a questioning session. Since my Fiance isnt Catholic he then briefly explained what our future sessions would consist of and explained some of the rules an traditions of Catholic weddings. We also set the date for the wedding officially, so have a couple of dates in mind if you haven’t finalized a date yet.

FutureMrsBex: This helps…thank you so much!!! For some reason, I’ve been so nervous that it would be like an interview or something. We have already given the church a deposit to hold our date, and we were told that we just have to meet with the priest for pre-marital counseling 3 times before our wedding date. The secretary at the church seemed so sweet about it, but for whatever reason I’m still so nervous!
