You REALLLLY want to know the truth??? You ready….

Do you remember what you were wearing when your SO proposed? Ummm..yeah..nothing. He proposed while we were naked in bed after sex. We have 5 kids combined and it was finally a moment alone in the house, quiet, romantic by candlelight but yeah..naked. (blech 😛 )

Did you have any idea they were going to propose and planned accordingly? Yes, we had picked out the ring and had it for over a month. It sat there on the dresser mocking me for over a month! Pure torture.

Did it catch you by complete surprise and you can’t even remember such trivial details? Totally by surprise. Since we had it already, I had found a folded paper in it with directions to my favorite waterfall and thought he was going to take me there to propose. NEVER expected it to be in bed naked out of the blue. He just whispered it in my ear. I honestly thought he was joking, just said duh of course, got up went to use the restroom, came out and he just said “ok, let’s make it official then and put the ring on my finger. Not exactly what I envisioned but he did meet my request of it being a moment just the 2 of us and romantic (he thought the candlelight and sex counted).

Men!! lol

I had a very, very strong feeling he was proposing that day. I remember making sure I smelled good and did my makeup, but for some reason, I can’t remember what I was wearing! : / It was in March, so it’s not like it was that long ago.

Actually yes I do remember. It was a random day and since we weren’t living together at the time and he has such a crazy work schedule, we always make sure Thursday nights were nights just for us. We were over at his place and I was in sweats and we had just started a movie and were chowing down on Chinese takeout.

Out of nowhere, he gets up and goes into another room and when he came back out he knelt in front of me and proposed.

I knew it was coming. We had picked out the ring together, but I had left the rest of the details to him. I had no idea when it was coming but he did give me the one thing I had asked for and that was that the proposal be low key. And he definitely delivered.

We have pictures so i remember from that. I had an idea he was going to propose but that didn’t really influence my outfit choice. I could have worn a cute dress or something but if it didn’t happen I’d just be more upset so I treated it like any other day. It wasn’t my favorite outfit by any means but it really didn’t matter at all.

He was visiting me at a work field site (I’m a biologist), so he ended up proposing in my work hotel room when I was dirty, tired, hungry, and grumpy after a 12-hour day of working in the sun and heat. Ha! So I was wearing a dusty smelly tshirt and hiking pants and boots. Loved every second of it.

I wore a chambray halter dress and a cute black shrug, since my tattoo needed to be covered in case we went to his house after. I didn’t know it was coming that night, so I’m glad I looked decent!

For engagement pics I wore a royal blue dress for ModCloth.

We both had pre-planned to have a lovely dinner out. It had been a long time since we had gone somewhere together, so he asked me to go find a nice dress. It was a strapless silver and black floor length dress.

I had no idea he was going to propose. We never really talked about getting married except for “Maybe one day.”
Our “engagement” photos were gifted to us by our photographer. Since she wasn’t in Oklahoma when we got engaged, they were “day after” wedding photos. I was wearing a little white sundress my husband picked out while we were getting him some khakis.

I also had a strong feeling he was going to propose to me that day. But he told me we were going to be outside and to dress for the weather – it was a cold day in March so I dressed in heavy layers. I had on a tank top, OSU football tee, sweatshirt and a coat over that – definitely not super cute, just practical lol. He ended up proposing to me at the end of a 1,000 foot zipline so I was also wearing a dorky helmet and harness! There was a photographer taking pictures so we have photos of every moment 🙂 While we both look a bit dorky, those elements remind me of how he did it and managed to completely surprise me, even though I was expecting it that day! So while it’s not technically the clothing I would have chosen, it doesn’t matter because that moment was perfect.

In your situation I totally get trying to plan an outfit out. But either way he’s going to think you’re gorgeous, and the happiness in your faces will shine through! 🙂

I knew he was going to propose, we flew to get my ring so it was fairly obvious… He did completely surprise me though. I was wearing shorts and a t shirt, which is what I wore on the plane.

We went to pick up my ring from the jewler right from the airport, he told me my ring wasn’t ready yet and we’d come back tomorrow. We got to our hotel, and I went to the balcony to check out our view.. I turned around to call him out because the view was amazing and the sun was setting, and he was behind me on one knee.

It was actually perfect. We picked the ring together and I knew all of the details, yet was completely taken aback.

This post just made me realize I wore the same top for our proposal AND our engagement photos! LOL. I never really thought about it before but it was a cute purple wrap top that I loved.

I wore that top with grey capris when he proposed at the same location as our first date. As soon as we left the house I knew he was going to propose that night.

For our engagement photos I wore that same top with jeans.

My fiance proposed at a beautifully lit dinner on the beach. (something the resort would put on) while we were in the Dominican Republic on vacation. I was hoping he’d propose on that trip, but it was April Fools day and we both got EXTREMELY miserably burnt the day before, so I wasn’t expecting it. My mind was on my sunburn lol.

I was wearing a cute dress and actually did my makeup and everything considering we paid for that meal (it was an all inclusive resort, this was extra for the experience).

I actually got freezing cold while eating bc of the breeze and my sunburn so when he proposed I had to take off my jacket so that the waiter could take our (very dark) picture! <3

I might actually wear that same dress for part of our engagement session. If only we lived near a beach! lol

I’m trying to figure out what to wear for our engagement photos but I have no idea. so I’ll be following for details! (if I can find the pic, I’ll post it!)

TwinkleBoss: I’ll play.

Do you remember what you were wearing when your SO proposed? Yup. It was on the winter solstice, but it happened to be unseasonably warm. I was wearing skinny jeans, riding boots, a beige sweater, and my chocolate brown leather jacket. I didn’t know he was going to propose, but luckily it was one of those rare days where I wore makeup AND did my hair.

Did you have any idea they were going to propose and planned accordingly? In hindsight there were a million clues, but I had no idea. I probably would have worn something prettier or bought a new dress for the occassion though. He proposed in the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, one of the most beauutiful museums in Boston.
Did it catch you by complete surprise and you can’t even remember such trivial details? It totally did. I joke with him that I want him to reenact his proposal because it happened so quickly and I was so surprised. It was one of the few times I was rendered speechless. He went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He had to ask twice because even though I was nodding my head, I couldn’t find the words to say yes (even though in my head I was shouting it). When he slipped the ring on my finger, the museum erupted in cheering and applause. Patrons visiting the museum were watching the whole thing from the balconies above.
