I’ve read quite a few posts tonight about the things people post on Facebook that annoys them. Excessive pregnancy updates, images of meals, gym, fitness, running apps, using it as a daily diary, checking in everywhere, self-obsessiveness, kids photos, and more…
So it made me wonder what IS okay to post on Facebook? What doesn’t annoy you??
I rarely post on facebook. I was made to post a group photo at a friends party a few weeks ago but I think my last post before that was announcing my engagement 4 months ago!
Can you name the last few posts you made?

I don’t post very often either. The last few posts have either been pictures of my dog or check-ins at concert venues. But I did post this video about mantis shrimp yesterday because it’s awesome and informative: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5FEj9U-CJM

My latest post was something along the lines of ” just purchased Blake Shelton tickets for September.. yee haw y’all!”
If someone doesn’t like what I post, they can head right on over the the “hide” or “unfriend” button, it won’t hurt my feelings.
I don’t have kids or ” check in” too many places, but I do post pictures of things I find funny or big events ( my sister just got married, so pics from that and we just bought a house, so pics of some of our renovation efforts so far).

I don’t post very often. My last post was a picture of the storm damage at my apartment building from the severe weather last week. A tree came down, demolished 2 different fences, and blocked the door to my building. Before that I posted a picture of my FI and I at a state park mushroom hunting and a picture of some fruit tarts that I made. I don’t often post status updates.
My most recent post was about not letting other people’s opinions matter more to you than your own.
I just posted an update about the sheer chaos my dogs managed to create this morning! The pup appears to be a very bad influence on the Senior Terrier!
I totally avoid the passive agressive or overly personal stuff on FB. I don’t mind letting people into the humourous trivia of my life but I don’t treat FB as a place for streams of intimate consciousness!

My most recent post was this:
The one before that was a rant at my mother’s excessive need to control and organise every aspect of my wedding and try and convince me that all her ideas are better than mine.
The other one this week was saying that I do hope Brown (a qualifer tennis player at Wimboldon this year) does well because he is rather yummy – with a clarification that of course the FI is yummier!
I tend to post every couple of days and I try and make it something entertaining. I have never posted about the food I am eating.
I posted a new western invitation design on my fan page.
My personal page I try to be very limited and mostly post photos of my son for family across the country to see.
Before and after pics of some home improvements I’m doing.
I don’t post very often at all – last post was a picture of my dog, and before that I think I checked my mom and me in someplace on Mother’s Day.
I find it soo annoying when people check in at the gym or take a screen shot of how fast they ran a mile. Yahoo! Good for you, why do you need to tell the world that? Working out is a normal part of everyday life for most people, I don’t need to know what you did today.
I don’t post often but my last couple of posts are job related as I am leaving my job of 3.5 years TODAY! I don’t do the overly gushy romantic, or passive agressive, attention seeking shit, but I do post TOO MANY photos of my cats. But, if you don’t like it, ungriend me. Really not bothered.
A plea to the sun to stay out so we can have our engagment pictures taken. It’s been a wet summer for us, unfortunately.
I usually post about once a day. Theirs past week, I was chaperoning a trip of 20 high school kids to England. I did post a handful of pics each day of where we went.
Usually I post general stuff – cool stuff I’m doing, gay marriage support recently, funny stuff that happens at work. I never post about food or working out (mainly because I didn’t go to the gym!)
I don’t post often, but my last posts were about the filibuster in Texas and DOMA going down. I think I posted (well, reposted) 4-5 times yesterday.
ANYTHING excessive is annoying, along with anything that’s super personal (health issues, unless it’s just “ugh, I’m sick AGAIN”; your kid’s potty training photos/play by plays, stuff like that).
My last post was about riding my bike to work for the first time in two years, and how I was going to be starting my learn to row program last night. I also share things that I think are funny or newsworthy.
The only things that really bother me on Facebook are when people are constantly posting ‘selfies’ with a million hashtags (I hid one girl this morning for that reason) and when they post 6 status updates a day about going to the gym, cardio time, meal #3, blah blah friggen blah. LOL.
I just hide them if they get too much.
