So I am new to this whole pregnancy thing, and was wondering if any of you had advice or experience to share. What were your "must haves" during pregnancy or right after birth? Was there a specific prenatal you loved, or a book that changed your life? What about belly bands--did you find one was better than the other? Were there any natural cures for your morning sickness that seemed to help? What did you discover along your pregnancy that all other pregnant women need to know about?

The thing I am currently struggling with is my bra. My boobs have grown at LEAST a cup size, and all of my bras are very uncomfortable and create serious side boob. Do I just go out and buy regular bras a size bigger? I am sure my boobs are going to grow even more--what did you guys do?

Thinking I should start a new thread as well--BABY LIFE SAVERS.

I don't even know where to start when it comes to the best strollers, car seats, diapers, bottles, etc. I am sure everyone has lots of input in that department as well.

Just buy Target bras as needed.  At $10 a pop it's not going to break the bank.  Not only will your cup size increase but your ribs cage will expand also.

The Bella Band allowed me to wear my regular pants up until about 7 month of pregnancy. Likewise, maternity tanks will allow you to continue wearing your regular cardigans for quite some time.

If your boobs are getting big, I suggest getting nursing bra at this time. It's more cost effective than buying a bigger bra now and then more nursing bras in a couple months.

Compression socks helped with the swelling that happens during the 3rd and sometimes 2nd trimester. Actualy any flat shoes will be necessary.

"What to expect when you're expecting" was good for when I was pregnant. "pregnancy childbirth and the newborn" was amazing for preparing for delivery.

I put Belli Oil and cocoa butter on my tummy every day to prevent stretch marks. I don't know if it's good genetics or the lotions, but I don't have stretch marks.

I also bought an abdominal binder for post partum. I used it as soon as the day after I gave birth to help my tummy get back into place. Again, I'm not sure if it's good genes or the binder, but my tummy went down quickly. I looked "almost normal" after a week.

I second the recommendation for just buying bras at Target as needed.

Re: books, I liked Penny Simkin's "The Birth Partner" and whatever the main Ina May Garten one is that everyone reads. (the latter is also good for freaking people out with the photos)

And the biggest container of antacids you can find.

@wagamama: My friend also used an abdominal wrap, i don't what it was called, but it is the one that Kourtney Kardashian is a spokesperson for. Her stomach looked amazing in weeks!

I'm only 20 weeks so my list is only a partial list! But so far I would say the Bella Band has come in handy but not essential... I much prefer straight up maternity pants, which I would consider lifesavers! :) Peppermint lifesavers and ginger ale for the first trimester morning sickness. WTE (the book) for reading, weddingbee and babyandbump for websites, cocoa butter lotion for itchy belly (hoping it helps with stretch marks but I know there's nothing you can do to prevent them so I'm not setting my hopes too high)..

For a bra, I bought my favorite regular bra in a bigger size (cup and around) and I've been glad I did. It's expensive but I just wash it often and have been getting by with my old sizes on washing days. I also know that I'll wear it again in future pregnancies. If I grow again though I'll probably buy a cheapie C because I know I'll never be a C again in my life! (34A regularly, 36B right now). Haven't even thought about nursing bras yet... that doesn't really sound fun to me right now, so I'll save it as a 3rd tri activity :)

@AvantLaLettre: oh wow! I am usually a 32D, and I am thinking I have to be at LEAST a 34DD right now, if not bigger... and I am only 10 weeks! I am gonna have some huge jugs. hahaha :)
