What width wedding band is right for my FI's small hand?

Bees,

I'm getting ready to buy my fiance's wedding ring, and I've pretty much got it narrowed down to a classic gold band. The only thing I'm still trying to decide is whether to get a 5mm or a 6mm ring. I like the look of the 6mm best, but my FI's got pretty small hands (not teeny tiny, just not like "big hairy man hands"), and I wonder if 6mm will just look way too chunky and silly.

What do you think the right width would be?

It's hard to tell without seeing someone in person. I assume you're planning on buying online? I think the best option would be to go in to a jewelry store to try on some bands to see what looks best on him. Most stores will have a set of plain bands for people to try on for exactly your reason.

Otherwise, my husband and I both have 5.5mm bands, and I think they look fine =) He has smaller than usual hands too. I'd still go in someplace to try them on though.

Lol! I really wish we could go try them on. Unfortunatley, we are in a VERY long distance relationship (I'm in USA and he's in India) and I need the ring before I leave for a two month visit in India on September 25!
