Subscribe to the magazines through Amazon or Hearst publications - way cheaper than buying individually.
Try the library. I know my library in Moline carries several bridal magazines, and they will let you check them out, as soon as they are one month old. The current ones you can read right there. And best of all, it's free. Since I got engaged, I've been making weekly runs to the library. Between wedding magazines, wedding planning books and crafting books, my library card has seen a lot of action. Luckilly, its all free.
I say Barnes and Noble too. I never looked at them in the stores, too shy,LMAO, but I have seen one or two on a slow day. I subscribe to Martha Stewart Wedding. I was gonna get ride of it, but someone else likes reading them...yes...my SO. *eye roll*
I know, B&N. I just don't like the atmosphere there as well, but seeing as it will be the only bookstore left in my area, I will have to go there.
Our library does NOT circulate any magazines now.
And since we are not engaged, don't want to freak out SO by subscribing!
Have a lovely Saturday!
Aww. That sucks.
I've always wanted to get into reading bridal magazines (they look interesting), but I don't want to freak out my SO either by having them in the house. But it's a little silly. My SO has his own small collection of porn (I have no problem with it), but I don't freak out that over potentially mysterious meanings that their existance implies in our relationship. Wouldn't it only be fair that he sucked it in for my version of porn? It's a 2 way street right?
Just made me think.
My Borders is clearing out stock and their magazines are 40% off right now. So I bought a few yesterday. However, I've been borrowing magazines from my library for the last several months. These are the first few I've ever bought.

Hey, I'll be the first to confess I am having Borders withdrawals. They carry 14 (fourteen!!) bridal magazines. I have the habit of settling in with a stack of them in the cafe. Soon that will be impossible.
There's no way I would buy all the mags I look at. Our city library has recently stopped circulating magazines, so I can't borrow them there. Plus, I've enjoyed having that handy place as a venue for poring over wedding porn! Anyone else feeling the pain?
