Ok, when we built our home our main thing was openess. Therefore we had them eliminate the wall between the living room and family room to make it one large room. I never understood the point of 2 living rooms nor do I now not like my formal dining room but that is another thread. We LOVE our great room! The kitchen and dining area all flow into it hence why we had the TV mounted where it is at. My issue….I have no clue what to do with the far right corner of the room on the same wall as the tv. I do not want that couch there anymore and it was just thrown there till we figure it out. But as you see, we have 3 couches and really do not use that one. We have an office upstairs so no need for a desk. Bees what would you do with this area? I am at a lost. Help!!!! 🙂
#1 is the view from kitchen/dining area. #2 is going into the the other side #4 is a close up of that corner.

a large round chair or chaise. I’ll find you one =]
i found one at a Weekends Only for only $250 or $350, something like that. They’re awesome and I think one would look AWESOME there =]

I would do a great big open shelf/bookcase & fill it with all sorts of vases, pictures, knick knacks, etc. Add a couple of comfy, but sophitiscated chairs with a small table for a conversation area and use a nice area rug to tie it all togehter.

Maybe set it up with bookshelves and a chairs as a reading area?

Maybe a big armoire for wine, china, things that need to be hidden, but readily available.

Baby grand. Definitely. 😛
Seriously though, I like prttypancake’s reading nook suggestion!

I would do a little sitting area with 2 chairs and a side table. That would also be a good place for plants with that light from the window. And darn it I missed the housewives reunion! I’ll have to catch a re-run. Haha.

Thanks girls! I like the ideas of bookshelves with a comfy oversize chair. I will just have to fight my dog for the chair bc that is “his” window! 🙂 Furniture always scares me as well as shelves bc I do not like bulk and I am a less is more person but I think this could work! Thanks!

@Purple Nurse–Great idea! I am actually doing that in our “formal” dining area bc I want it to be more a bar room where all liqour and stemwear will be until we finish our basement in the next many years!
