What would you consider to be a "classic" wedding band?

When I hear “classic” I think of a simple gold band, unadorned and no diamonds.

@cbgg:  +1, possibly some simple decoration like a miligrim edge on a band, but otherwise plain gold.

Simple gold or platinum band, no diamonds.  What many people select as wedding rings today  used to be popular as eternity or anniversary bands.  Women would wear the ering and wedding band together and the anniversary band would be worn as a separate right hand ring.

@rachelmichelle:  Ha ha!  I just looked at my messages and saw 5 new notifications and was like, “did I say something contorversial?”

I agree that a plain gold band is considered classic because it goes with lots of erings, will never go out of style, can be worn alone and look great, etc. However, I still feel that many other more embellished bands can be considered classic. As long as it isn’t over the top, but still stylish enough that it compliments the ering and stands alone fine, then I would consider it classic. I definitely would consider your band a classic band for this reason. Also, something like this screams classic to me:

@cbgg:  Yeah, how dare you say that my blingy wedding band is not classic?! So offensive. 😛

I think of a band in either gold or silver, smooth, or simple patterning like coin notches around the edges (like my parents originals), or maybe even crisscrosses on the top (which they upgraded to). Tried to find pictures but evereything was so BRIGHT!
