- Wedding: November 2014 - Historic cinema
So we are getting married in an historic cinema which i have worked at and we both know the owner very well.
We are getting married on a Saturday and of course had the general 3pm ceremony followed by a dinner reception in mind.
I very much want a formal event – am all about dressing up to the nines.
The cinema owner has said we can use it for free if the ceremony is in the morning!
However I would rather pay to have it later on. I don’t think it will be much as it is in a very small town and it is not peak business at this time of year.
But….the free thing is appealing….
Have you experienced a morning wedding and a dinner reception? Or are we best to negotiate a deal for a later ceremony?

I think you will be very disappointed in having a morning ceremony. the whole atmosphere will be different, not formal and not a party. I’d honestly pay more for the evening because it’s sounds like that’s your vision:) how much to rent it?

@MissBettsy: If I were having a morning wedding, I would have a brunch reception. The “Catholic” gap is bad enough, but making your guests kill the whole day till dinner is not very hospitable in my book.

@MissBettsy: I agree with pp- pay for the venue for a later ceremony. I think it would be well worth whatever the cost may be. I wouldn’t be too excited about waiting an entire day for the reception if I was a guest- you might even get some who skip the reception entirely because of the gap.

I would go with the wedding you want, sometimes its worth spending a little extra to get what you want.

I would pay to – it sounds like it will be worth the money 🙂
