So I have ordered bridesmaid’s dresses 3 months ago, and since the store does not carry any lace-overlay dresses, these need to be custom-made.
They said they would have to die the white lace to match the colour I wanted, and let me approve the sample before going ahead to make the dresses. A month later they called and said the sample is in, we went to check it out but realize the color is quite off from what I expected. So they agreed to make another sample, 2 months passed by and nobody called me. By the time I called the store, they said they already have the dresses made! At this point I was a bit frustrated that they went ahead without our approval, but they said if I don’t like them they are willing to remake the dresses. Again, it is not the color I wanted. I wanted to have fuschia and they gave me pink dresses. Since the lace and the fabric colors matched nicely, I thought maybe I’ll settle with this colour, so we decided to take them home and get my bm to try them on. On our way home, I had the dresses laid out on the back seat, and they actually look lavender/pinkish under the sun. I tried to picture them with fuschia flowers I have already discussed with our florist, they clash. So I brought them back to the store, and asked them to remake the dresses. The lady in the store promised they will try to follow as close as possible, and get me to come in when the sample is in. 2 weeks later I took my mom to the store to get her dress custom-made. When we finished taking measurement for my mom, I started to ask the progress on the sample, then this lady started to suggest me to change my flowers to purple, and said that the factory wouldn’t be willing to remake the dresses (I have been dealing with two ladies in this store), I got frustrated and argued that how they did not call me back to approve the colour as they promised, and that the other lady did say they are willing to remake if I still don’t like them. First of all, she seemed as if it’s no big deal to change the colour of my flowers, second of all, why would I change the whole color theme of my wedding so to match the bridesmaids’ dresses?! I didn’t want purple flowers, and my wedding is less than 3 months away!
I got them to agree to remake the dress, but it is frustrating when things don’t happen the way you expect them to.
And after what happened, I am really worried if the colors of the new dresses still clash with my fuschia flowers…
Ladies, what would you do if you were me? Change the flowers to match bm’s dresses? Or cross my fingers and hope that 2nd make of the dresses will be a success…
