Just came across this article: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20705449,00.html.
DH and I had a wedding 3 years ago for about 3k…I couldn’t even come up with $9 million worth of expenses in my wildest dreams— unless the favor for every guest was a new car or something, haha!
So bees, what would you do with a $9 million budget?

@newlynesting: $20000 wedding. $8.98 million honeymoon!

Donate it all to charity. Seriously. I can’t imagine ever spending that much money on myself. Who are these people anyways?

There is no way I could spend that much on a weding. Buy a house instead!!

@paula1248: Haha right. Go on honeymoon for the rest of our lives!

Jeepers. Does the entire $9 million have to be used on the wedding itself, or can it go towards the honeymoon??

@paula1248: Haha, awesome! I love that idea!
I just reread the article and noticed this: ” the couple’s infant daughter Winter Victoria and the guests were dressed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Ngila Dickson.” So maybe they bought designer clothes for all the guests? Crazy

I could imagine doing a $100k wedding. Maybe $200k. I have no clue what I would do with a multimillion dollar wedding budget.

@Britt214: There’s an idea: buy a beautiful house + property, and use it as the venue!

I don’t know what I’d do with it. I would probably have used some to add a little extra to some aspects of my wedding, like the dress. I’d also like to take a really nice honeymoon, but even I can’t imagine a $9 million budget.
I’d much rather go ahead and pay off my house, pay off my car, get FH a new truck, put some in savings and then donate much of the rest to charity.

I would have it in a lavish and extravagant location like a castle, fly out all of my guests there, and make it a week long affaire, with wild parties every night and fancy garden parties every day.

Idek. A huge donation to charity and about $100,000 in actual wedding

I’ve worked at $300,000 events, and they were SPECTACULAR. I can’t imagine $9 million.
I’d spend $100,000 on my wedding, buy a house, a car, spoil my family, invest, and donate some as well. I would NOT donate to my college, I consider my loan payments a decent donation.

I’d have a guilty conscience. I could never spend that much money on a wedding while there are people starving in the world.
I’d love to have a nice honeymoon, though. Maybe $20,000.
