My FI and I have decided to do a cookie buffet in addition to our wedding cake. We are planning to have 1 dozen per person to take home in lieu of a favor and then extras for sampling and snacking on throughout the night.

If you were at a wedding with a cookie buffet what would you hope would be included? Has anyone done one and had certain things go over better than others?

Just for the record, we are looking at about 125 guests and no children. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks girls!

A literal ton of really good chocolate chip cookies, and oatmeal without raisins.

Soft oatmeal cranberry cookies. I used to make these non-stop because my friends couldn't get enough of them; they even started paying me to bake them batches!

I would be looking for soft chocolate chip cookies, and some grown up sweets - cranberry white chocolate chip, and double dark chocolate chip. (Apparently I have a thing for chocolate chip cookies today!)

I agree with all the usual suspects - chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, shortbread, peanut butter, etc.

Monster cookies pack a punch.  They have a little bit of everything thrown in the mix - mini choc chips, oatmeal, rice krispies...

Lemon - I have a recipe for a cakey lemon cookie with lemon icing.  Those are heavenly.  PM me if you want the recipe :)

There's also magic cookie bars, the ones with coconut, condensed milk.

Ever had those chocolate peanut butter bars? Although you might not want those as they are bars, not cookies.

I'd only eat 1 cookie, becasue that's more than enough to me. So I'd want white chocolate & macademia nut.

Do you have people with food allergies coming? I personally am allergic to gluten so I can't eat cookies- I would NEVER in a thousand years expect a couple to think of that and have a gluten free option for me, but if anyone really important to you is allergic to something like wheat/dairy it might be good to consider it!

Yey for cookie buffets!!  I plan on having one at my wedding too.  I love all the ideas on here so far.  I'm definetly going to do chocolate Peanut Butter for my FI since it's his fav.  Also, some frosted sugar cookies using our wedding colors.  The macadania nut is an all around fav too.  So many choices!!

I adore cookies so I would have to really use some self-control with a cookie bar.

    Amazing Chocolate Chip

    Peanut Butter

A really good Oatmeal -- maybe oatmeal macadamian nut or oatmeal and white chocolate

Sugar Cookies --these are really awesome

A crunchy cookie--maybe me a honey cookie or a lemon crunch.

Then I think something fun and unique for the wedding, like having a personalized drink. :D

    @PrincessEmilie7:

A dozen cookies per guest is A LOT OF COOKIES. :) Especially if you've got couples coming. Unless they're mini sized. The cookies, not the couples. The couples won't be mini sized after eating all those cookies.

(I totally forgot where I was going with that, I was just suddenly stuck with deep sadness that a Timbits buffet at our reception is a geographical impossibility.)

This isnt technically a cookie, but at our cookie bar my aunt made buckeyes, and they were the biggest hit of any cookie there.
