    My SO & I are adopting a kitten on Saturday and are trying to do a little brainstorming on names before she gets here (though we will probably wait until she is home and shows us her personality before making a decision though).

    What would you name this kitty? : wedding pets cats names 101 1175

    So what do you think? What comes to mind?

    I don't have any specific suggestions but I'm always a fan of human names over something like "Princess" or "Fluffy" or whatever.

    I really like old lady and old man names. I might name a female pet something like Hazel or Mabel.

    Awww...what a darling kitty!  I don't have any name suggestions...I named my cat a pretty odd name, cause I'm weird like that.  I think waiting til she comes home is a great idea.

    Saturday.

    Ladybird.

    Patches.

    Perhaps those decisions are based on the fact that 1- I have a cat named Wednesday, 2- I'm watching King of the Hill, and 3- I had a friend with a kitty that looks exactly like her, and she was named Patches. The kitty, not the friend.

    I also like Dinah for some reason. Or Bettina/Battina. Nickname Batty.

    She reminds me of a cookie of some sort. I can't decide if she's an oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip.

    By the way, I call my cat Kitty mostly, even though her name is Bunny. So yeah :)

    I also love animals with human names!  My kitten's name is Montgomery, and in my lifetime I've had kittens named Charlie, Wilson, and Leonardo di ser Piero.  My leo actually looked just like your kitten. Smile

    I like really unique names for cats. Mine have japanese names, haha. I'd name a cat Tuna, though. I think it's funny. No idea why. My cats are named Sushi and Sambi, though. But i like my cats to have kind of "out there" names I guess. Two syllables, always!

    @danadelphia:

    I am pretty well the same way, (with the old man/lady names), especially for cats, its not like they need something short and ending in a vowel to respond well to it (like dogs).

    @gabrielleelise1981:

    I am definitely going to keep that one in mind!

    @ejs4y8:

    out there names are just as cool; I had a friend name his cat "dopple" (the cat was black and white) for the doppler effect ;)

    Loving the suggestions! Keep them coming :D

    @mishelleez:Oh my gosh...that was my first thought too! lol

    I also like "Feline"...because that's my cats name, but it's pronounced "Fuhleen."  You should see the look on the vets name when they actually think I named by cat Feline because of the way it's spelled. lol

    I have three cats, "Kendell Jaxon,"  "Hallow Spencer," and "Ebbie Lou." All the names were picked at random, except "Hallow" because I got him when I was reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

    I immediately thought "Mingo" when I saw your little baby.  Just remember, if you go with a human name, as I did with "Kendell" make sure its something you wouldnt want to also name your child!  I want to name my first born son Kendell now, because I like it so much!

    @ ribbins: I do. I did not, however, when I named him.  My fiance informed me when we started dating.  He figured that is where the name came from.  I don't claim to have never heard the name before used in a wine context, it could have been a subcionscious thought! LOL

    I had a cat with that same coloring growing up, and we named her Reese because she was the colors of a Reese peanut butter cup!  She was the best...she lived to be 23 years old!!

    Skooter (because she looks like she could be a handful)

    Ling Ling (because she looks very feminine and dainty)

    Daisy (because she looks soft and cuddly)

    We just got a kitten 2 months ago so I came up with a bunch of names for a girl kitten and then we got a boy!

    We were leaning towards Penelope (Penny), Hazelnut (Hazel), or Maize. I think you're kitten is adorable and she looks most like a Hazelnut to me.

    We named our boy kitten Toby! Our other cat is Maximus. They are both Bengal cats.

    OMG she is soooo cute.  Someone else suggested "Mabel," which I think is so cute (why didn't I think of that?)....especially because the kitty has a "M" on her forehead (check it out!).  It's almost like she named herself. :)

    I was going to say Dinah too!  I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan.  My cat has an old lady name, so I also vote for Mabel.  Other possible old lady names: Pearl, Francine, Edith, Marion, Mildred, Ida.  Or even Violet.
