Today I had the unique experience of participating in a photoshoot of "real women" for Health magazine.  The article is about "Dream Jeans" (coming out in October!) and six other women plus myself had to describe what their dream pair of jeans would be.  My dream jeans are ones that fit my thighs!  I've always had trouble finding jeans that fit my disproprotionately large legs.  The ones that do fit are always too long and have a huge gap around the waist.  This got me thinking, what would you say is the body area you're most self-conscious about? Mine would definitely have to be my thighs and my upper arms!

My thighs are problematic as well.  It's not that I don't like curves, but a little less curve would be nice.  It's hard to find pants that fit well because of my larger hips/thighs and smaller waist.  If they fit those tough areas, they don't fit my waist (I hate it when pants gap), and if they fit my waist, they are WAY too tight in the thighs.  Of course these are the last places I loose weight/tone up too!  Can't be easy, right?  Congratulations on the photoshoot opportunity!  Way to represent real women!

it was a tie between my hips (not butt) and abs, but I would be way happier to lose the belly flab, so that's what I picked!

Thighs.  It's not the largesse of them, but the hereditary cellulite.  Ugh!

ugh. i hate my arms. they are huge (well not really. im certain i have a distorted view of my probably-totally-regular-sized arms). it seems like when i work out, i can get my stomach flatter, my thighs less lumpy and my butt  cuter, but i can NEVER get my arms smaller. blurg. i just want to have twigs attached to my shoulders, but i know my body type and that's not going to happen, but just a little smaller would be nice!

Love handles, I guess! I don't so much mind the rest of me, but I wish it was a smooth (inwards!) curve from my butt to my waist. Instead I have a wee 'second bottom'!

I think my chances of getting rid of it are pretty slim as it was the first place I deposited fat (I had a very active highschool life), and has been there for years. Still might try though... a general tone-up never hurts!

Boobs. Too big. That is, my bust measurement is always an inch or two bigger than my hips (doesn't seem to matter how much I weigh - the proportion stays the same). That is not how the clothing sizes work. Finding anything that fits at the bust and doesn't totally hang around the waist and hips is really hard. And don't get me started on bra shopping ...

Sigh, no matter what I do, I can't fix my abs or rather my stomach.  Worst it's the lower abs that I seem to have an impossible time with.

I said thighs. I just can't get them to one up.

@ FontGoddess: I feel you. It hate bra shopping and trying to find a shirt that fits so they don't fall out!

Everything would fit just right if it weren't for them. *sigh*

I have jean/thigh problems, too!  My problem is that the jeans end up having a really long crotch, or they just excentuate my thighs.  Yuck!  However, I found Hudson jeans and have been able to deal with my thigh issue.... So, my biggest issue now is my upper arms. I can't really hide them in the summer time (or my wedding dress)! :(

Thighs seem to be the order of the day...I have issues with a very generous posterior, aggravated by huge thighs & a normal size waist.  Jeans/pants that fit my lower region leave a BIG, HUGE gap in the waist...I am SOOO not looking forward to trying on dresses!  Any tips, bees?

Other: Just about all of the above!

My ass has always been huge no matter how hard I work out so I've given up on that. And lately I just gain weight to form a muffin top which isn't just abs technically--it's like abs, sides, and back squish. I also have big arms. My thighs are the one thing that's good!

Abs.  The whole stomach area, including love handles.  :(  I'm pretty fit all over, but just can't get the abs to tone up or flatten out.  I blame genetics.  Just about all of the women in my family has round middle, especially as they get older.  I think this is very typical in older age Asian women.

Well, I hate to complain about it because I know that it really is something that most women have, but omg I hate hate hate that ever so slight pooch you get right under your belly button.  My tummy is nice and flat...and then, it decides to taunt me by getting slightly poochy right there. Grrrrr.  Perhaps I wouldn't notice it so much if I had some bigger boobies to draw away attention...mine are pretty much flat as pancakes (no complaining here, love to the flatness!!!)

HIPS HIPS HIPS! I've lost almost 30 lbs lately and the only area that still seems to pack a little extra meat (aside from my thighs, but I think I can turn that into muscle -- it has worked before) are my HIPS! There are these ridiculous little handfuls of fat. It almost looks like my butt has spilled over onto my hips? I can't figure out what's going on, but it needs to be remedied!

Dark veins on my legs and only in my mid 20s :( Hello varicose veins, just like my mother had... ugh... I guess that's not workout related but it's the thing on my body that bothers me most, not my tummy pooch or anything else

I can't wait to see you! Not that I know you, lol, but I subscribe religiously to Women's Health! It's such a realistic magazine in a world full of celebrity smut, I love it!

Mine is my stomach. All of it. I have what my husband called "chicken legs" because there's no fat there, but ALL the fat on my body just goes straight to my stomach. It's like, Oh, I look so fit on the outside, then put me in a swimsuit and i'm like, "helloooo belly roll #1, #2, muffin top, etc". I've had people ask me if i were pregnant before because it just accumulates there! I, too, think this is a hereditary asian thing. My family all carries it in the middle, but the women are all slender everywhere else. So needles to say, a 10 pound weight gain is like "oh no! nothing fits!". Boo

I, too, have an ugly dark (just one, wtf!) vericose vein on my left thigh. Not pretty.

@Fontgoddess--my chest circumference is 3" larger than my hips. I'm an upside down carrot! It's definitely not a typical body shape found in magazines for "dressing for your size".

Gee, I am middle-aged so can I say all of the above? Actually my problem is more with loose skin in the arms, gravity on the belly. However then again, I can still fit into my size 8 jeans. My biggest concern for the wedding - back fat!

@wheresmydessert, thanks! I think I get Health at work, lol.

I have read that abs are where most women want to tone up and lose weight, but as women, we're mostly programmed to carry our fertile body fat there. grrrr genetics.

Thighs! I frequent the gym and am a genetically slender girl but my thighs just done tone as well/easily as the rest of me! My calfs are slim and toned and muscular but my thighs don't have that definition although they are small.

I picked other because well I wouldn't call what I have "abs". hehe. Any extra on my tummy is very noticeable compared to other areas. And the weird thing is that my stomach is pretty flat (from front to back), but from side to side...those handles let me tell you!

I too have odd stats, so clothes shopping is hard! I'm a street size 10 in the bust, 8 in the waist and a  4/6 in the hips. Can you say stressful shopping?! I have such a hard time looking balanced! And it doesn't help that my besty is a fabulous hour glass!

Well these days its my breasts -- I have a dress I love that the girls aren't fitting into. I'm desperately trying to lose enough weight to get it to work. I do have another dress already, but have a gorgeous one I want to change into for the reception that is giving me trouble.

It's a tie between the thighs and abs. Mostly I hate my hips, those "child baring" hips my mom so graciously gave to me. My dress is a ballgown princess dropped waist. It's gorgeous and makes my waist look tiny and my breasts look bigger!
