Basically make a how to guide of how to have a $7,000 wedding look like a $80,000 wedding. It can be done. We did it for my friend. Or how to have a great wedding for under $5,000 which is my goal.
This is a great idea, as I have found the same thing. Most people assume you have at least $20k. Let me know if you want a co-author or contributor!! (Seriously!)
Incidentally, I am also a wedding photographer and have a budget of about $4,000.
This would be a fantastic book!! You could include things like fake flowers vs real (which is my current dilemma) how to haggle is a good one, renting vs buying on things like chair covers, tablelcoths, etc. How to make connections in the wedding industry, how to navigate bridal shows, how to plan destination weddings, etc.
Also, if you eventually want to look for a publisher, lulu.com is a great site, very cheap and great quality. It's pretty simple and easy to use (at least for me).
Good luck!!

I've got an artsy photographer friend who's getting married next summer. She's received tons of planning books as gifts but apparently none of them are doing it for her -- specifically, she's got a small budget and the books she's been reading just assume she has a minimum of 20k to drop on a wedding. So she brought up the idea of cowriting one together -- me for the writing and her for layout and artistic bits. I told her I really hoped she wasn't going to try to do this while planning a wedding at the same time, haha. She thinks it would be a fun future project for us.
That's kind of a huge undertaking but I admit the idea is kind of attractive. But, me not even being engaged yet (just a few more months, though!), I have no idea what I'd want to put in a budget planning book. She's got some ideas but I thought I'd ask around! What would you guys want to read about in a planning book?
