Katepants:  I just skimmed the article, but I really believe that.  If you think of it this way: your body is the foundation for your baby’s conception, growth and development.  The more you take care of yourself before conception, the stronger that foundation is.  My FI is a health nut and has already told me he’s going to feed and treat me like a prized show horse over the next few years and before we TTC lol.

Epistatics! It actually modifies the DNA structure. The most important times are the first trimester (sets up cellular signalling pathways), the fathers diet around puberty (when his body begins to make sperm), the maternal grandmother’s diet during pregnancy with the mother (when the mother’s eggs are forming during her development) and lastly, lifespan of the baby is determined by the prepubescent diet of the paternal grandparent of the same sex. I’m a bit of a science nerd..

Kind of scary that aspects of your child’s health are in other people’s hands hey! Not something that excites me when I have no idea how my fiance’s grandparents took care of themselves as teenagers..

There’s also a thing called “Gender Swaying” where if you eat more calcium/magnesium = girl, potassium/sodium = boy….they also go as far as douching to lower PH or lime tampons? It’s crazy!

May not alter gene’s per say, but supposedly gives you a better chance at what you want.

kapalua67:  Do you have links to these studies? I’d be interested at looking into them!
