That's so cute! All I've been able to tell is that my little guy is really active when I wake up in the morning and when I go to sleep at night- especially when I'm falling asleep... he kicks me really hard in the side and it tickles. Also when he's especially active I'll rub my belly and he usually calms down a lot. Sometimes when he's quiet for awhile I'll try eating something sugary or drinking something cold (because I get paranoid... I can't help it) but that doesn't seem to do anything. If I lie very still on my back for a few minutes he always wakes up though. It's amazing how strong he's getting. You can see him moving around from the outside now!
She reacted to lectures.. lol.. I was taking classes throughout my pregnancy and she would go nuts while I was trying to sit through class. It was super distracting.. haha.
Other than that she mostly kicked when I wanted to go to sleep. She didn't care what I ate.
I went to get my annual eye exam while I was pregnant, and the baby HATED the glaucoma screening... the one with the little puff of air in your eye? She freaked out and started kicking, so I couldn't chill and keep my eyes open for the test. I think the technician tried 5 or 6 times before we had to take a break, check my blood pressure, and try again after we had both calmed down.
She also kicked a TON whenever I ate Mexican food, which I attribute to the fact that (TMI approaching...) the night she was most likely conceived, we ate at a Mexican place in San Antonio. :)
Norah loved powdered donuts and John Denver when she was still inside. While we haven't tried the donuts on the outside, she calms right down when Annie's Song starts playing. I don't even listen to John Denver, but these twins I was nannying for couldn't get enough of that one song, so I've listened to it a few times a day for several months now.
awww, so cool that they react like that! our blueberry is only 12 weeks old right now, so I can't feel anything (although I could see that he/she sure wiggled around a lot during the ultrasound!)
Caitlin loves driving! She doesn't like the radio, but she likes when I sing. She LOVES oreo cookies. I mean it. She kicks and kicks and kicks! She kicks a lot right when I try to go to sleep, and she must be a morning baby because she kicks in the morning before I'm even awake (DH told me he could feel her!). She also loves WB, because whenever I'm on here typing she's kicking too!

So I thought it would be fun to find out a little bit about our fetuses' (or newborns') personalities, by finding out what they all respond to.
For example, Lemon gets really active when we play certain types of music... but not the types that you'd necessarily think. She has a distinct prediliction for Afro-Cuban music and for funk/soul. I usually don't listen to these a ton, but her strong responses have prompted us to download a few new albums from i Tunes (Paquito d'Rivera). We always thought she'd be responsive to the stuff we listen to the most, but she doesn't budge for Classical (dad) or Indie (mom)!
Also, with respect to foods, in some ways she's like most fetuses and gets really wiggly to OJ or Lemon Aid (Lemon, you little cannibal!)... But she also wiggles a ton to some of our favorite pasta dishes... I guess the Italian side of her is already shining through!
So what does your fetus or newborn respond to, and were you surprised?
