    So what's for dinner tonight? DH and I are dining on lasagna and garlic knots!

    Nothing exciting at all.

    Sloppy joes (made with 93/7 beef) on homemade bread. Also steamed artichokes and mixed green salad with goat cheese and mandarine slices and poppy yogurt dressing.

    Slow cooked bbq beef.  We're still out of power at home... so I brought it into work to cook.  People have been wondering what that smell is all day!  oops.... so against safety rules to have that here.

    Dinner was dictated by my 3yr old - fish sticks, a cheddar cheese cubes, an apple, and a piece of halloween candy.  Gourmet?  Not so much... but it gets the job done!

    Yay! I love food stuff! :) You ladies are making me hungry again, though... LOL!

    It was really funny... I was actually writing about my dinner in my blog tonight. I got halfway through my work day and really started craving Tuna Noodle Casserole. It's my favorite comfort food memory from childhood. When there was a nip in the air, mom would make it for me...

    And in true southern mama fashion, she topped ours with crushed Ritz crackers tossed in melted butter... MMMM!!!

    I made it just like mama tongiht, and boy was it delicious!

    Aw, these threads always make me hungry.

    I've got leftovers - hash brown casserole and a bit of steak. But I'm going to try and make it more healthy with a little salad or roasted asparagus, if I dont' end up dead-tired when I get home.

    @cyndistar3: OK!

    preheat oven to 425

    the cut potatoes into wedges and sprinkle seasoning salt or garlic salt and place on greased pan and roast (flip 1/2 through about 45 minutes total)

    dredge the steak (cut into thing slices) in flour (seasoned with salt and pepper) and then egg.

    Fry in a pan that you just cooked 2 slices of bacon.( non-stick) leaving the bacon grease.

    Remove steak and toss in (premixed) shot of cream or milk, some chicken broth, pepper, 1TB cornstarch, red pepper flakes and simmer till thickened. pour over steak and add crumbled bacon

    serve any veggie you have

    @cyndistar3: flour is a thickener too! (just use more because corn starch is 4 times more thickening than flour, and you need to cook flour longer to rid the flour taste) also you can use white wine or beer instead of broth.

    @cyndistar3: you can buy cooking wine without an ID actually, (although it does suck and is only OK in situations like this)
