I’m with you on the potty training bit.  The problem is that a puppy is completely trained in a year or two.  A baby requires constant parenting at least until they’re 18.

Yeah…I think of puppies as equivalent to a newborn for a week (maybe even until 12 weeks). They are hapless, don’t pay attention to danger, cry at night, need constant supervision (etc) but they get out of that phase SO quickly….babies I imagine take a good bit longer. To me puppies are just mini training.

lol I would say a newborn. Puppies have accidents, chew, and whine which is hard, But it’s over in like a month or two, and you can actually get sleep with a puppy.

Newborns you feed every two hours, change, put back to sleep, wake back up, feed, change, bathe, etc. Puppies can play on their own while you shower, clean, nap, etc.

    I’ve had both.

Really? I haven’t had a baby, but I wouldn’t even think to compare them (baby being harder). I hope taking care of a baby is as easy as a puppy!!

LOL ummm I’m gonna guess baby… Particularly because puppies calm down and babies just become more and more high maintenance. They also need changing and feedings every two hours, scream for no reason, need constant care and attention etc… Your puppy isn’t begging you to warm up a bottle at midnight.

Newborn is ten times harder.  After a few weeks the puppy can go to it’s food and nudge on it if it’s hungry, go to the door and whimper to be let out and people tend to frown on crate training a newborn baby.

If I mess up with the puppy, he’s a little neurotic.  If I mess up the baby, they’re a broken person.  A baby is much harder based simply on that.

At least you can leave home with a puppy there and put it in a crate for a little while! 🙂

I’ve done both: baby times 100.

ETA: I’m actually having a REALLY hard time believing people said puppy. They must of either had REALLY easy babies, or REALLY difficult puppies.
