@sit1010: Interesting. How do you find out who in history you share a wedding date with?

Look at all the people who get married on Sept. 11th.  Not a great memory but doesn’t mean your marriage will be bad because something awful happened.  I’m sure there are no dates left that don’t have some bad association:)

I share my date with my Aunt and Uncle, my wedding will be on their 29th wedding anniversary (a good omen in my opinion).

Interesting fact about the Royal Wedding, Apiril 29th is the Feast Day of St. Catherine of Sienna.  Apparently back in the day her folks wanted Catherine to get hitched to someone awesome and quick… Now I hear that single gals take time out on April 29th to pray that they find their awesome future husbands.  Maybe Kate is celebrating that she doesn’t have to pray anymore.

I chose my date because:

  • October = hockey season
  • 13 = J’s lucky number

So, it all just fell into place. 😉 Oh, and when I visited the inn I’m getting married at, our coordinator told us that the number 13 is a lucky number for the inn as well.  She gave us a bunch of facts.  It was pretty sweet and made us even more excited.

@sit1010: Wow, that’s exactly how I chose our wedding date. October 10th is our dating anniversary. It fell on a Saturday, so that’s when I booked the date with the church as I was going through their calendar over the phone together. I looked at my work calendar and saw that October 10th is our dating anniversary. We got married 5 years to the date of our first date. For us, October 10th is super special. I got some flack for not waiting a year and getting married on 10/10/10. Just not my style and on a Sunday, so no Catholic wedding then.

There is nothing really all that exciting about my date. Other than its the day that Elizabeth I died, and the worlds largest oil spill happened on it. I chose it because 3.24.12= 3 goes into 24 and 12, and 12 goes into 24, and the numbers added are divisible by 3. Nerdy I know.

@sit1010: I really wanted to choose our dating anniversasry, especially since we have been celebrating it for 11 years now, but it wasn’t enough planning time and I didn’t want to wait until 2012.  So, we fell onto our date because it gave me the most time to plan and enough time to be back from our honeymoon before our son’s first regular season hockey games started.  Realized later that it was a shared date with my Aunt and Uncle.  I was a flower girl in their wedding, so I am hoping to say something cute about it taking 29 years to the day to make it from flower girl to bride at the reception. 🙂
