I don't usually make a list, but there was really only one thing I wanted for X-mas, so I emailed it to Mr. Spaniel: a pair of pearl stud earrings. I just got my ears pierced back in August, and I only have my piercing studs and a fancy pair of chandelier earrings, and I need something in between! :)
Ooh I always make a list ;) I'm wishing for a fancy new camera, a new bottle of my perfume, a Lilly Pullitzer Tote, and maybe a monogrammed Vera Bradley garment bag and duffel...(my b-day is around Christmas, too!)
It's funny, I think this is the first ever Christmas where I don't want anything, and I never thought I'd hear myself say that!
We just got married in September, and when we tallied up all our wedding gifts, and the stuff we bought with the cash we received, and a few things we bought ourselves, we have everything, and I feel completely content as far as material possesions go.
One thing I'm holding out for is a second "anniversary" band to go on top of my wedding and engagement ring because the bands are so thin, but I have a feeling I'll be waiting a long time for that :)
My mom forces us to make detailed Christmas lists and we just use them to give to everyone.
This year...I asked for running stuff (tights, shorts, socks, tops), clothes, boots, shoes for work, pretty boring stuff overall ;o)
It's a yearly tradition for us all to make Christmas lists after Thanksgiving dinner so that my mom, aunt, and grandma know what to buy when they go Black Friday shopping. It's a pretty fun tradition, but I have no idea what I'll put on my list. I mainly just want clothing this year - more winter stuff (scarves, tights, etc.)
I'm wanting new running shoes and a yoga mat big time. It's been so hard to resist the urge just to go buy them for myself!
Haha, I am in the process of trying to write mine right now (as per requested by my step-dad) and I cannot think of ONE THING!!! That's a good sign right....that I'm happy with what I have :-)
ugh. FI and I were really hoping to get a Wii, he told his Mom that's what we wanted and she said no, bc it's not practical and we're moving into a house soon. I told this to my mom. FI's mom calls me today to tell me she bought him a Wii and she wanted to make sure I don't buy one for him. I call my Mom (can we all see where this is going?) and tell her, she gets upset because she bought one for us. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. She's so bummed and I think it SUCKS.
sorry... this just happened and it's bugging me!
Spaniel, I wear my pear studs almost every day!
I asked Mr. KM for a pair of diamond studs before changing my mind (I didn't realize how expensive they were!). I asked my mom for a pair of boots I LOVED, and a cricut machine. Mr. KM is sad now, cause he wanted to get me the cricut but I DON'T want him spending that much when he should be saving some a little something for my left hand.
@Ottawa, that really is shady! I'm so sorry. Is his mom like that a lot?
There are oodles of things I can think I would love to get but, and I know this sounds cheesy, I don't care to get any presents to unwrap because I'm getting to go home for Christmas (hubbie's coming with of course) and spend it with my family and that's all I really wanted.
My list is mostly stuff for wedding planning or for the day- gift cards to make-up places
(so I can actually afford to buy make-up at Sephora or Bare minerals!), a set of professional make-up brushes, Gift cards for spa or nail treatments at local salons (I'd love a free message and a mani/pedi the day before the wedding!), gift cards for clothing shops I like to frequent (so i can buy wedding related outfits!), jewelery from etsy I have my eye on (my FI has hinted this is one of the things he's buying me! Yay!), a Wii with Wii Fit (hints have been dropped this will appear under my tree this year! Yay!), books (my list is so long for this I just point everyone to my Amazon wish list!), the P90XDvd set (which I hear is amazing!), a Flip HD 120min 8gb digital video recorder (I want to give this to a friend during the wedding to record the ceremony), new pillows, amd comic books (also on my amazon wish list).
Most of the stuff i want is for the wedding in some way- to get fit for the wedding (I want my fat arms and belly to go away!), to look fab for the wedding, to look fab for wedding related parties, and to record the wedding. My family thinks my list is werid because I never wear make-up- what's the sudden interest? heh.
I don't really have a list, since I'm getting married 6 days after Christmas. The FH and I decided on a $200 budget for Christmas/Wedding gifts to each other, so I asked for a snowflake brooch for Christmas that I can wear day of wedding. My parents haven't asked if I want anything yet, but I would probably tell them no. They are contributing $4000 to the wedding and mom already told me what she bought for a wedding gift.
I want a Bakerella tee!! And socks. I'm easy to please.
And Ottawa - That is quite a frusterating mess. I'd tell your mom to sell it online for a profit. Seriously. The closer it gets to Christmas, the more money. Tell her to give the extra earnings as a wedding gift if she can't figure out what to do with the extra cash! ;) I'm amazed they were both able to get them. I'd tell FI about it, but not until after Christmas. You're lucky you have parents who can and will do those things for you!
@purduegrace - i think it's just an unfortunate mixup!! i think his mom was just trying to throw him off. she's a very nice lady and definitely didn't mean to cause this!! :)
@whitesonnet - we are very lucky!!! that's part of why it sucks, my mom didn't think we'd ever suspect it bc it's unlike her to buy something so impractical, she was so excited to hear our excitement when we opened it!! *sigh*
this is probably lame, but i really want a chamilia bracelet. my great aunt bought me a charm bracelet when i was young that i never ended up filling up. this is kind of my way to remember my aunt.
i also asked for a yudu. i LOVE screen printing, it was my favorite class in college, but it's so tedious unless you have the proper equipment for it and the space! this looks to be the next best thing, plus it'll be a huge help for when i decide to make my invitations and whatnots for my wedding.
This is the first year EVER that I don't know what I want, that is SO surprising giving I am a shoppoholic I want everything kind of person HAHA that was a confession to you all lol. I think the wedding planning is changing my mind since our parents will be paying for 90% of the wedding and I feel bad asking for anything...I can't believe I reached this point where I don't want anything wow lol.
I've been busy trying to work on my list for my family and it's so hard! I mostly want boring stuff, right now I'm looking for cute shirts to add to the list, but so far I'm not having any luck finding anything I want...
i want a dog. so bad! a corgi to be exact!

tell me thats not the cutest puppy ever!
@NicLoop...yes it is!!!!!!!!!
FI doesn't really get the Christmas gift giving because it's not in his cultural background. Last year he bought me a present (that I told him to buy) only because my mum was coming and we were having a big Canadian style Christmas. But this year I'm not even going to be here for Christmas, so I highly highly doubt he will buy me anything.
As to my wish list for my carepackage from my mum.....MAC foundation in my colour! Underwear that fit! Bras that fit! Yummy tasting toothpaste! Laura Secord chocolate! It's amazing how much my 'wants' have changed since moving to Korea!!!
I would like a new watch, as I wear it everyday and my current one is all scratched and old. I also want a new umbrella (that's more of a NEED actually) and a few other random things.
I know one thing Im getting-- A Husband!! lol. But if he can afford it, I would like a pretty set of earrings...something inexpensive, but pretty. :)
I really want a fluffy down comforter and duvet cover for it. I also wanted gift cards to buy clothes, iTunes, makeup from Sephora. Other than that I couldn't come up with much which is irritating my FI to no end.
I really really really want a cricut, but it will not be under the tree - that I am sure of...
FI is really thoughtful with his gifts, but we are making our budget small for each other this year (and everyone else too) The most we'll spend will be on my kids...
I already know what my husband got me - a trip to Quebec City this weekend to see the Nutcracker and tour around Old Quebec. It'll be a fun trip and I'm really looking forward to it. Guess this is what happens when he asks what I'd like for Christmas and I reply "I don't know - surprise me." :)
I really don't have much of a Christmas list this year, which apparently is frustrating for his family. The best I could ome up with is oven mitts and candles, and some new pajamas. I looove new pajamas.
i want something sparkly to put on my left hand for christmas :) but it ain't happenin'!
i could use a new digital camera. and some new kitchen stuff: knife set, pots and pans, hand mixer..... and a vacation!
I always make a list - I tell him that if he's going to spend money, it might as well be on something I want or that is useful instead of taking a chance.
I have some books on it, iTunes gift cards, gift cards to clothing stores, Super Mario for Wii, a Wii Fitness Board, perfume, etc. Not that I'll get all of that - I'm just giving him options.
I don't generally make lists. This is also the first year where I genuinely don't want anything. My birthday was in October and I told my mom not to bother getting me anything that we could just go shopping. We did-- she bought me new jeans and a sweater. :)
I always used to think it was kind of crap when people said they didn't want anything but I think I'm there. I have my FI, a good job, a healthy family... I'm planning a wedding I'm buying a house, I have a good life and the little stuff just does not seem so important. Especially since our parents are helping us with the wedding I kind of feel like.. eek!please do not spend one more dollar on me! lol
All I want for Christmas is an iPod Touch :) That is the only thing that I really, really want!
I want a garlic press, i've been cooking with a lot of garlic lately and I really would like one. I also would like a gift card to sephora to try out some new stuff. I also would like work clothes, which I got cause my mom let me pick them out on black friday. I also got new dress boots that the hubs is going to give me!
I make lists. It's easier for everyone to look it over and talk amongst themselves. A flat panel tv is #1 on my list
