Oh yeah trying to get some of the mint chocolates done for the table settings. I decided to make miniature mint chocolate airplanes to place at each table setting. It is a long process but I think will be a nice touch. I'm also working on putting together the paper airplanes that will tossed at us as our get-away. The FI and I have put together 100 so far. Only 100 left to go!
We have a meeting with one of our vendors this afternoon, but when We return, I hope to finally hand-stamping 415 muslin favor bags that will hold our Ghirardelli chocolate square favors. This project has taken a long time so far, and I'm feeling really motivated to get it done!
lol @ birdie...homework
vintage...that sounds like alot of work but I bet its so awesome...can I see pics?
october...yours too sounds like a lot of work...i would like to see yours as well
@ winter443....attempt is a good work...I like that. lol. what kind of invites are you working on?
I should be taking out the silk screen supplies and continue working on the coasters and cocktail napkins but I think I'm going to take a nap instead.
But I should at least pull out the stuff later. Now that we've taken all the holiday stuff down.
I spent time researching fun RSVP wording and....that's it. This Sunday is no better then last Sunday. At this rate, January will be a wash for me! heh. On the upside, we went to our first cake tasting yesterday (not going to use them, their cake was a bit greasy tasting) and Tuesday we're meeting with a potencial DJ (I hope he works for us as he's inexpensive and comes with all the bells and whistles!). I have also been fantasizing about engagement shoot clothes (not that we have one set up...)
Totally not wedding related, but I'm completely organizing all of my shoes today, and I'm pretty excited about it. I bought a bunch of those new post-it labels for my shoe boxes so they're going to be all organized and pretty! :-)
I'm jealous of all the ladies who have wedding related stuff to do, though! I'm kind of at a lull right now!
Does looking for a local bridal shop that carries any one of the dresses I like count? So far I struck out on five dresses from five different designers sigh I hope tomorrow is better.
@ lori...a nap sounds delightful.
@ rabbit where did you go for your cake tasting?
ahh nothing here.. i keep putting off all my diy every weekend. I really need to get on it
gabgal...don't feel bad...I keep putting off my table squares and runners.....motivation...motivation...motivation
Well... I'm currently on vacation but I'm excited to make some diy purchases when I get home this week! I am going to buy some true touch flowers/ribbon and attempt to make my bouquet & bouts. I'm also going to buy some cardstock to start my stds!
Eh, I made my inspiration board. And kinda brainstormed on centerpieces.....feast your eyes. J/k it's kinda lame and I'm using just a few more flowers-ha! Not really centerpices...table scapes? Eh, I dunno.
I just finished our "guestbook." We needed a custom mat for our framed storypeople print. Glad I could cross this off today :)
My adventures on the weekend was favor toffee appple making. It was an utter disaster... and so i have to totally rethink of another favor to do, as it would just take my stress-ometer to heart attack level.
Other than that I worked on my crepe paper flowers i have made 100 only another 300 to go. meh!
In between assignments, my friend (she is doing the flowers for us) and I went to the Bridal Expo that was in town (that was pretty uneventful). We then went out to the site where will have the wedding and reception.
@ msmoniaka- We went to Scortino's Bakery (with the name of their wedding cake portion being called Elizabeth's Cakes). The chocolate with gaunch and the cheesecake with raspberry was good, but most of the cake left a greasy film/taste. She was nice and told us frankly not to buy their pies, as they buy frozen and just reheat. I appreciate that knowledge, but not enough to use them as our bakery. I keep hearing recommendations for The Cake Lady and Simma's(?) Bakery. I need to set up appointments with those places too still. Also, if you'd like to win AWESOME photography from a fab photographer newer to the area, go here: http://www.portrait-photographer-milwaukee.com/ She is giving away one each of engagment session (this is what I am hoping for, since our wedding is too late for everything else and we can't afford to hire her otherwise), Bridal/trash the dress, and a wedding. Very nice! I've e-mailed her and she's super nice via e-mail! :)
I seriously admire every Bee who's making poufs/flowers out of crepe paper! I wouldn't be able to do it.
i went to wal-mart and saw tulle!! i will probably buy some this week to make my veil (is it strange to make the veil before purchasing the dress???)

I asked this question last Sunday....so I figured I'll probably ask every Sunday.
Sundays are usually my DIY days. Today I plan to:
1. Do a complete overhaul of my table numbers....not feeling the sample I created.
2. Add the damask ribbon trim to my vases.
3. Finally cut the fabric for my damask table squares and runner...I keep procrastinating on this and I dont' know why.
Are you DIYing today? If so whats on your list?
