So we are pretty late on this registry thing and have to complete it this weekend.  As we were talking about what our priority items are as we looked at all of the suggested items and some seem unnecessary.  We currently do not live together so we will need good basics but do not want too much stuff either (limited storage space).

For you married bees, what's something you wished you had registered for?

And what were the things you could have done without?

Pyrex bowls are a great lower price point item to register for.  I wish I would have registered for these instead of the lower price items we choose that people bought.  I loved the knifes we registered for (two man henkle) and never thought someone would buy them for us ($800) but an Uncle bought them for us so I was glad they were on there!  I think the best advice is to find things you like at all price points that you will use often.  If you don't have one, the Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer is probably one of the best items to have, and the cuisionart Grill/Griddle is also in constant use at our house.

Thanks Pugsandkisses, good point about the different price points.  And I figure it doesn't hurt to put some items that we think might not be purchased, someone might surprise you.

I'm surprised more people haven't responded to this. In my case, we started our registry WAY far in advance just so I would have the time to add to it, since I knew I'd forget stuff. One thing I'll probably add is nicer Tupperware. The stuff we have now is somewhat worn, and a lot of the lids are missing (seriously - where in the world do the lids go?!). And this is totally ridiculous, but after Christmas dinner at a friend's house, she let me take home leftovers in her awesome Tupperware with divided compartments, and I was totally jealous of how nice her stuff was.

Mixing bowls and the glass Pyrex storage containers are the two things I wish we would have registered for. We were pretty practical when it came to registering so we truly only registered for things we needed. So there's not anything we got that we ended up regreting registering for.
