Hey Bees! I’m going in for my first fitting soon and I’m wondering if there are any other brides out there that are well endowed (34DD here) and needed some strapless support on the big day that can offer words of wisdom. My dress fits well at the waist and I’m not worried about having to pull it up all night, but I am concerned about ending up with a crease below my bust if I don’t have the proper support. Is having boning and cups sewn into the dress enough? Or should I go with a corset bra?
I’m going to ask my seamstress what she thinks is best. But I’m still worried she will tell me that adding boning and cups is enough and I’ll still end up with a crease! What do you guys think?

I am using a corsetted bra for safety sake

What kind of closure does your dress have (zipper, buttons, corset)? Cups sewn in are great, boning can be so-so (metal is better because plastic will bend), and a corset back on your dress can help immensely. A longline bra or corset underneath instead is also a good choice.

I feel your pain 🙂 I am a 32DD and chose a strapless gown. When I first went dress shopping and picked it out, I wore a longline bra (strapless) and it worked perfectly! I still had all of the normal support with underwire cups, and the longline bra didn’t move around at all. I definitely recommend bringing one when you go shopping, and a lot of shops have some there already for you to use.

Another 34DD here and I have used a longline bra with no boning before and it worked pretty well, but it really depends on the dress. I am actually thinking of going braless in my dress… we’ll see how that goes! IF the dress is tight enough cups should be okay as long as they don’t flatten you out

It depends on the dress I think. Im a 38H and I have no problem wearing corset dresses without any kind of support. My grad dress was just a corset as well as the BM dress I will be wearing in Aug and thank god for that because otherwise I would have had to buy an expensive corset.
Ive never tried on a dress with a zipper before so Im not sure how they support.

This was my grad dress… size 18, 38H cup… no bra, just corset. (sick picture lol ew)

My dress has a zipper closure which fits nice and snug at the waist, but has no chest support. I don’t really WANT to wear a full corset bra, but I’m feeling like it will be the only way to make it work. I’ve been trying it on with a strapless bra but I feel like I keep tugging at it. My seamstress said she can sew in the corset bra. Does anybody have any experience with having that done to their gown?

I bought this bra the other day before i went to try on my gown again before i ordered it 🙂
Oh my god it is amazing! i am an au 12D but bought the 12C for extra cleavage :P, so comfortable and even though it has no silicone it doesn’t slip at all 🙂
