- Wedding: October 2010
My Fiancee & I rented an entire campground/rustic resort. We rented 4 cabins & a 32 bed lodge for our “destination” fall wedding.
The reason we are taking care of the reservations is 2 fold –
1. We are members so our rental fee is discounted
2. Only the 4 cabins (1 of which is our wedding suite) can be independently reserved – the lodge does not have individual room reservations – its one basic rental.
We want as many people who would like to join us to please stay -(as our location is off the beaten path & would like anyone who’s drinking to not be on the windy, country roads) but we want them to chip in! The rate would be $30 per person for all 3 days (which is quite a deal!) – with arrival on Sat & depart on Mon. Wedding on sunday.
How do we word this when its not a block of rooms that people can just call & reserve? I sent out save the dates to people I really wanted to stay with more detailed information – including the fact that if they wanted to reserve a room/cabin they would need to contact me w/their interest before the end of May – many have & all the cabins are reserved but we have lots of rooms left at the lodge & we want to get them filled so we don’t need to pay for the entire lodge rental ourselves.
I am creating a pocket invite that has three inserts – I was going to use 1 for directions, 1 for RSVP & the 3rd I was thinking possibly a RECEPTION/ACCOMMODATION insert – do you think I should just pick one or the other? or is combined ok?
And Lastly – I put all this information on a very detailed wedding website which I included in the save the dates months ago….. I plan to refer to the website again for rate information… weekend schedule of events… ect.
Whew…. ok – I think I took a breath- I’m really not a bridezilla although I am stressing with casual, simple easy to understand wording for this unorthodox situation.
