I have been on these boards for a few months now, reading about how other brides are planning for their weddings.
Everyone on these boards are so entrenched and deeply involved in every tiny aspect of the wedding I feel like I’m missing something
we have a church, church music, misilets, priest, cars, guestlist, venue (food, drink table settings), photographer, band, DJ, flowers, invitiations, Grooms clothes, best mens, suits, Bridesmaid dresses, wedding dress, wedding rings all sorted.
Im organising my wedding from sydney and its going to take place in Ireland next august-
I would be hard pressed to write at length about my preparations – I found it all very straightforward-
Am I missing something??
Is there something glaringly obvious I have forgotten??

every bride is different in the way that they plan… some are laid back and stright forward (sounds like you), others are detail crazed and well… crazy (like me lol). i seriously am involved in every tiny detail of my wedding from the shade of green and the kind of damask print used to the exact wording of our vows… im very detail oriented and i am kind of a control freak… so in a nut shell… no youre not missing anything… its just all in how many details and diy projects and little things you want to worry about. do you have a DOC to help you?

In all honesty, I think it’s more of a personality thing. As in, some people make decisions more quickly and with less analysis. Others take longer to make decisions and enlist the help of friends, family and online forums.
Nothing wrong with either way.
I’m someone who likes feedback and likes to “confirm” things with those closest to me. I come to the ‘bee when I need help from others of like-wedding-minds and when I have issues I can’t talk through in “real life.”
I have to admit, I’m a little jealous that the whole thing is so straightforward to you. I’ve never been the best at making decisions!
Congratulations to you!
