I just got that email too...I havent fixed it yet though because we cancelled our registry!
i just did that too.. im kind of sad because wedding channel was donating to a charity for us! also, i went to sign back on (i clicked on the link that said that we can save $20 on an order of over $50...) and it said i needed my id or something.. which i dont have.. so now i have to call customer service tomorrow.
Hey Mitla,
Thanks for the heads up! I just did it and all I had to do was make a new password and I was all set - totally easy and painless! :)
I wonder if they'll let you use Macy's coupons on registry items now? They used to not be "valid on WeddingChannel.com" ... that would be great for our guests - and for us when we are guests at weddings!
I did get an email, but all i had to do was click on the link and log in like normal.
I just tried using a "take $10 off a purchase of $30 or more" coupon to buy a gift for my friend off her registry and it worked! I know, super geeky to be excited about it, but I love me some coupons ;)
I got the email too! I was a little confused so i logged on and I had to have my regitry ID along with my email but once I entered that I made a new password and Voila! registry is back to normal! Yay!
Got the same email, and we have no "registry ID" since we started the registry online. ::eyeroll:: I'm supposed to have to call customer service just to continue accessing my registry? Great job, Macy's.
Hmmm I haven't gotten one yet....? Maybe if I log onto my Macys registry?
I just clicked on the link in the email and logged in like normal. I think I had to create a new password, but I didn't have any issues.
Oops, I had moved it to the trash like a crazy person. Whoops!
Good thing you posted this! I automatically delete anything from Macy's lately because they send so much spam. =)
I just did this yesterday. I thought it was kind of weird. Anyway, glad you posted it, thought it was something quirky about our registry.
Also, did anyone get print outs to include for invitations? We didn't get ours. All Macy's should have them right?
@jrl03, me too! I don't care about their spammy crap, so I had a problem differentiating, clearly.
I have no idea how I got on the Wedding Channel registry. I had to call their customer service people to be removed!
Mine worked fine. I clicked the link in the email, it opened the log in page and had my email and id number pre-set so i just had to add my password. This is the weird part, my password was no longer my REGISTRY password, it's my MACY'S password. I had to request my password after a few tries then I made the connection. But all was there and all was fine. And I like the "Green" option they offer.
I had to call macy's to get my registration number and there were very nice- it was quick and easy. So I re-entered all my info and created a new password. Now I can view my registry just find but it won't allow me to add any items to my registry! I called macy's and they said they are still working out the bugs. kind of a pain but I guess I'll have to practice some restraint for now.
I finally did this yesterday. The registry is still there, but I cannot add anything ("We're experiencing a temporary problem updating your registry..."). Not such a big deal for me, but what if you're getting married like, this month? What a mess.
The registry ID is in your email. When you click that link, it should take you to the new registry page... but if it doesn't work, click it anyway and look in the address bar. The address should say something like
http://macys.p03.com/blablabla youremailaddress registryID=XXXXXX.
That is your registry ID number, you can use that when you go to the Macys Registry page.
Mine seems to be working okay. My registry experience with Macy's has been less than ideal, although they are relatively easy about returns. What's your experience been like?
I have been kind of wary of them... I've heard stories about things not being shipped or lost items or faulty registries. Target is even worse. We've been thinking of switching to Crate & Barrel or something.

I got an email today that says Macys will be hosting the registries on its site, and will no longer be affiliated with Wedding Channel as of March 15th. The email asks you to create a new password on macys.com for the registry and it's supposed to transfer all your info.
Has anyone done this yet? I love the idea of having the macys registry separate from Wedding Channel, so I'm not worried about that... I was just wondering if anyone's had any issues transferring from one to the other.
