It’s actually my cat who’s more destructive than the dog. He’s chewed up countless phone and extension cords. I’d say well over 15 by now. It’s insane and maddening

One of my dogs chewed up a $150 pair of boots that I got for Christmas. He’s chewed up loads of other shoes too, but those were by far the most expensive. And it happened less than a week after I got them, so I never even got to wear them out.

Another of my dogs has destroyed his crate, which I believe was around $100. He’s a pit bull with a hard as a brick head, and he rammed his head into it (to try to open it) so hard that it completely dented the door and now it wont lock.

Not my dog, but I dog-sat for a puppy once when I was in high school and it ate my Mum’s $350 shoes.

Luckily, my dog doesn’t chew anymore, but he chewed like CRAZY when he was a puppy, it was HORRIBLE. He would chew anything and everything : eye glasses, makeup brushes, mascara, cords [he chewed both a lamp and vacuum cord!], he would even take my underwear if I left them on the floor.

I didn’t think he would ever get over it.

When I was a teenager, our family dog chewed up my retainer.  We had to get another one made.  Our current dog hasn’t been that bad with chewing, thankfully.  I think her worst damage was chewing a hole in an old blanket.

Duting the first month we had him, my dog ate my $750 favorite pair of Prada shoes. He learned his lesson and hasn’t eaten shoes since. My other pets have eaten $650 glasses, various cheaper shoes, and recently broke the leg off a side table (the cats somehow did that one).

When my dog was a puppy he chewed up all of the baseboards around my old apartment.  The fine that they charged me was outrageous!

amoret11:  When our dog was a little puppy, I called him a crocodile in disguise. He ate everything! We have learned to “puppy proof” everything even though he is older now. Even when I think everything is safe, I do another check just to make sure.

As for what he’s eaten, gosh, what hasn’t he eaten. Our couch, the corner of our coffee table, countless pairs of flip flops (those are cheap luckily), gaming controllers, cords, bedding…he was a monster! I’m smarter now and he doesn’t get the opportunity to do it anymore, lol.

My dog, when she was younger, chewed my retainer, two laptop charge cables, my work shoes, a purse. Pretty much anything that looked edible to her or like a chew toy I had to put up. As a result, she now has a ridiculous amount of toys to keep her occupied.

When she was a puppy, I was living with my ex who also had a puppy. One day they destroyed one of those huge yellow phone books, and then two pillows, while we were at work. They also ate a couple of his xbox controllers.

amoret11:  My fiance’s $200 pair of Oakley sunglasses… that I bought him for his birthday! I don’t know who was more pissed, me or him.

It was totally his fault, though. FI left them on the floor in the basement, which is basically our dog’s play room.

Nothing too expensive, but definitely worthy of dog shaming. He chewed my Sex and the City complete seasons dvd set – destroying two of the discs and making it look haggard. One of the discs actually contained some of my favourite episodes…

He also chewed in that same event an entire season of Parenthood. No discs survived.

Last week, we went out for 3 hours and came home to a massive pile of fluff… he’s a big fan of chewing apart stuffed animals, and well.. I guess he realized his dog bed was basically a big stuffed animal.

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves haha (and I actually have NO idea how to resize them anymore)
