What’s the price at which you would put your foot down and say, "This is ridiculous… there’s no way I’m paying that much for a dress I’m going to wear once!"
Actually now that I think about it, it’s probably less one number and more of a range… we’re all probably willing to pay more for a close friend, as opposed to a frenemy.
What’s the most you’d pay for a bm dress?

My sister once paid about $300…that to me is too much! I’m freaking out about the $200 I have to pay for a dress in May!

it would depend on two factors:
1) how close i was to the bride
2) whether i would wear the dress again
I would spend more on someone I was closer to, and if I would wear the dress again, I could definitely justify paying more. Not many dresses go above $400, so I guess that would be my ultimate ceiling. Although I’ve never paid that much for a dress in my life!

I think I agree with Mrs. Bee. It would depend on the bride and if I thought I’d wear the dress again. I think if it were my sister or very best friend’s wedding, I’d spend a lot on something she really wanted, just to make sure she acheived her wedding vision. Also, if I knew it was a dress I’d actually get some use out of, I’d try to look at it as an investment and be willing to spend a little more.

yeah this all depends on if I would wear the dress again. Although, most BM dresses, even the re-wearable ones, are not something i would spend lots of money on by choice. I would say the most i’d spend is aroudn $200-$250. I have dresses that cost more than that but those are gorgeous dresses that i picked out and wear all the time.

I think that $200 would be my max. Anything beyond that is a bit pricey for a bridesmaid’s dress.

yea i think my best friends wedding the dress she wants for us is $350! ugh. thank goodness its after my wedding otherwise i’m pretty sure i wouldn’t be able to afford it….

i was a BM about 2yrs ago and the dress alone cost $480 and it was lilac and halter and shiney with a sheer layer and had sparkly bits attached to it and i hated it then and still hate it now.. but what can you do

$250 is my max, and for that price, I’d better be able to wear it again!

$250 if it is a really nice designer dress that I could wear again. But I would prefer to stay at $150.

It depends. If it is something I would wear again I would go up to $250… unless it was for my bff I would wear what she asked me to. Wouldn’t ask questions. $150 is reasonable. My BM Dresses were $140.

I think $200 would be my max, but I would be a little grumpier the closer to $200 that the bride got 🙂

$160 is my MAX! I would never ever buy a reg dress for more than $100 and BM dresses are nomally ugly anyway!

$200, If I were that close to someone I would be willing to spend a bit more, but I would chime in at that point and try to bring the bride back to reality that it’s getting out of hand at that point.
