I just replaced my old Jeep, Minnie. Now I have this shiny Rav4 and a new name to come up with. I need to drive it a little more to come up with a good name, but in the meantime I was wondering what my fellow bees call their cars, and why.

My yellow mustang, who was with me for 11 years before we traded her in, was Sally Mustang. Our new car is a white Camry and her name is White Sauce, after a delicious white sauce that we love on our fave meal from a food truck back in NY. I’m confident they lace it with crack, it’s that amazing.

I have a Jeep Comppass and his name is Wlibur. My cars have been Henry, Wilimena, Margarita, and now Wilbur.

I have a black Hyundai Sonata. Her name is Black Betty. It actually came about because she was at the dealership getting all spiffed up for me and they gave me a Santa Fe loaner I kept calling Bertha, so my co-worker laughed and said that you get to drive Bertha while Betty is in the shop… The name has stuck ever since 🙂

My first car, a ’95 Honda Accord that was a goldish tannish color, I called my Chariot, and gave her some pet names. My current car, a gray 2001 Nissan Sentra (but only 70K miles yay), doesn’t have a given name, but I just call her things like Beautiful, Love, Friend, Girl, and Sweetie. That seems to suit her just fine. 🙂 If I had to say she has a formal name, I think I’d just say it’s Sentra 😛

My silver Ford focus is named Darla. I also dubbed DH’s red neon “Alfalfa”.

I keep thinking the Rav4’s name needs to be young and hip sounding. The Jeep was old (a 1999), and I keep being surprised by all the updated features I have now. It’s like “welcome to the 21st century littlemisst08!!!”

My car is Tarwheels. I’m a huge UNC fan and our team is the Tar Heels, so my car is Tarwheels. My parents gave me a vanity license plate which is a variation of Tarwheels (but has to be shorter to stay within the letter limit). The name and vanity plate also carries over to new cars. My old BMW was the original Tarwheels, but now I have a Mazda3 which is Tarwheels Jr. FI’s electric car (a Chevy Volt) is named Sparky.

- Wedding: September 2013 - B&B
My first car was a cherry red 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I finally settled on the name Antonio because it was kind of saucy for a wee little zippy car.
We (okay, I) call my FI’s big old red Dodge Ram 1500 heavy duty 4×4 Hemi pickup “Clay” or “Clint”.
And now that I have my dad’s 2006 Hyundai Tuscon, I had to name her something in honor of my dad. It’s Tina, short for Christina, obviously my dad is a Chris.

People actually name their cars?? Well now I feel all boring and unoriginal :p
I drive a gray 2011 Kia Forte but I just call her “My Kia” or “The Kia”.
Haha, I need to come up with a name now.

My previous car – also my first – was a little, green, 2 door Plymouth Colt. I can’t remember what year the make was, but it was old. That was Grasshopper.
Now, I’m driving Ladybird, an ’06 (I think) red Chevrolet Aveo hatchback.
Our family names almost all our cars and they usually have something to do with the colour. 😛
