I’m so happy to finally be able to participate in a thread like this! My ex-FI was horrible at romance, but my BF is insanely romantic.
Before we started dating officially, he had to take me to the train station one night, just after Halloween. I had been at his place the previous evening and mentioned the only Starbursts I like are the pink ones and how annoying it is to have to open all the lilttle mini packs to find just one or two. When I got in the car that night, he handed me a pink Starburst – which I went aww to. Then, as we were driving, he’d hand me a new one every time I unwrapped and ate one. Eventually, I made him give me all the ones he had to save for later and he handed me an entire pocketful – he’d unwrapped the entire bowl of mini packs to pick out the pink ones for me. So cute!
When he was in Hawaii over Christmas, he’d send me pictures of the beach or the sunset and I’d usually respond with “How beautiful!” or “That’s incredible!” and he’d always respond with, “Not as beautiful/incredible as you are!”
Aaaaand recently, I was moaning a bit that my ancient hand-me-down coffee maker bit the dust. He said I should get a Keurig and I laughed and said, maybe someday. The next day, he texted to tell me one was on its way to me.
Ugh, he just melts my heart every day. It’s so nice to feel so loved!

Ok, let’s see… He gives me money to go spend time with my friends so I won’t be stuck at home when he goes to visit his friends for the weekend.
He does sweet things like bring me chocolate and rub my back when I’m on my period. Once when I was cramping really bad he stayed up until 3 am trying to make me feel better since no pain pills I took were working, rubbing my lower back, even offering to draw me a hot bath.
At my senior prom, we stayed until after 11 and tried to wait on a slow song to come on so we could have our slow dance and then leave. They never played one, and we had a long drive back to his house, so we went ahead and left. When we got to the car, he opened the doors and played our song and we danced in the headlights.
There are others but I can’t remember them at the moment. I’ll post as I come up with more.

Mine was never big on romance, let alone big gestures – even our engagement was very simple and plain. Just how he is.
He’s always been very attentive. Some nights when I’m going to bed before him, he walks in with a glass of water – I always sleep with one at my bedside. On nights I’ve been sick, he comes home with an iced cappuccino for me (I drink ’em all year round). I was very sick a few weeks ago, and he kept me plied with medicine, blankets, food, water, etc., the entire weekend.
He is a sweet and giving man. The times I’ve been in financial or emotional straits – bills that need to be paid, a death – he’s always been right there.

My FI isnt a hearts and roses kind of guy. lol. But he does know what I like and how to make me happy. He does little things all the time to make me smile. Last night when he went to pick up our carry out dinner, he came home with my salad and a slice of cheesecake. (This restaurant has the BEST cheesecake!). Its the little things in my book.

- Wedding: January 2013 - Harbourfront Grand Hall
He’s taking me out Friday to a nice dinner (we’ve been avoiding eating out to save money for the wedding) to celebrate the upcoming wedding and have some alone time before his bach party.
He ordered us an “edible arrangement” for getting ready on the wedding day (I’m not supposed to know that, oops!)
He’s found the gloriousness of saying “thank you for handling that” when it comes to wedding stuff.

Aww! These are all so sweet. 🙂
My hubby is really good to me. I notice he shows his love in little ways especially.
My legs have been horribly itchy (suffering from some weird hive/goosebump thing…I think it’s an allergy of some kind) so to help relieve the itch, he has been putting lotion on my legs to take some of the itchiness away. Carefully dabbing it on.
He sold an old computer and cleaned off the old desk to give me a sewing corner in his hobby space.
He’s taking me to Italy for our honeymoon/Valentine’s day! <3

I was feeling really nervous about my weight/body for my boudoir shoot, which of course made me gain more weight lol. My guy left me this note on my computer:

I put my back out a few days ago and I can’t do anything. My Fiance has done everything from blow drying my hair, putting my socks on, driving me to work 40 minutes away, all the cooking and laundry, etc. He has really taken care of me and I’m so grateful.

Fi doesn’t do big gestures very often at all. But he can somehoe always tell wehn I can use a kiss on the forhead. 🙂

Aww great stories everyone 🙂 I was really sick this weekend and SO came over to my place lugging his juicer, tons of produce and ingredients for a delicious soup (we’re sort of health nuts). He spent the weekend making me tons of great detoxifying juices and the soup turned out great. I felt so lucky.

May not exactly romantic, but he emailed me from work last night to give me the encouragement I needed to workout. I decided that this was going to be my last “fat” Christmas, so I’ve been using My Fitness Pal to track my food, but hadn’t starting exercising yet. I thought it was really awesome for him to remind me of my reasons and not accept any of my silly excuses. He keeps me accountable and I love him for that.

I have to say that my FI does at least one romantic thing a day and everytime I think about him it makes me want to cry that I’m so lucky. The big thing he did this week: he knows I love hockey and he’s not a sports fan so he contacted one of his clients who always gets my FI’s company private box tickets for the Bruins to get tixs so I can go to a game.
We don’t live together but he also picks up my son when I have to work late or on the weekend, makes him lunch/dinner, does his homework with him, plays whatever games he wants to and have dinner waiting for me when I go to his house to pick up my son.
