    Just like the title says :)  Has a guy done anything extra sweet/funny on your first date?

    I just got back from a first date with a guy.  We went to dinner, then decided to go to an ice cream shop nearby.  He followed me, and as he was getting out of his car, he saw my tire was low on air.  He got out an air compressor (?) he had in his trunk and filled my tire.  I thought that was absolutely adorable, and I knew then I definitely wanted a second date!  :)  Luckily, he's already asked me out again.

    So how about you ladies?

    The first date I had with my husband was good all around, but there was such a super funny moment. After dinner and a walk, we went to a bar to grab a drink. We were on the dance floor singing in the others face. His beer slipped out of his hand and landed standing up right in between my legs. I was wearing a dress and his beer splashed right up my dress. I was covered. I had beer all over me and running down my legs into my open toed shoes! The look on his face was priceless. Then without even giving it a thought he grabbed a bunch of napkins and started awkwardly trying to help dry off my dress by tapping my lady region with napkins. Then he started stammering and apologizing for "touching me down there"  I ended up having to go into the bathroom and throw out my underwear they were so wet. It was so funny.

    @KatyElle:

    Haha no not at all.  I'm on here because of my ex, and decided to stick around because I really like the boards.

    On my first date with DH, he made me dinner. He practically never cooked, so he made a pasta recipe for his mom to try before actually making it for me!! It was so sweet!

    @mwitter80:

    That sounds awkward but funny!  It's always the awkward moments that are so endearing.

    oh god my first date was horrible.....in a way..

    we had a great time until i had a few too many wines and i ended up being sick by the end of the night.. The problem was I had starved all day before our date and was wearing body support lingerie under my dress to make myself look slimmer...anyways thats not the point.

    I vomited in his car....... GOD...

    he stayed with me until I was sober....AND

    wrote me the sweetest letter that week saying how it was his fault he let me drink so much and that he promises to take more care of me without the influence of alcohol next time..:-) oh and in the envelope he also put my ring that I had lost in his car that night cellotaped to the letter...awwww!!! We went to his place until i sobered up and he made me a lot of refreshing drinks and things, hot towels so I felt better... and dropped me off home that night...i live miles away..

    he's still the sweetest guy i know to this day!!

    Yes, my FI on our first date saw a bug on the wall at the restaurant.... (Which I am afraid of) and didn't say a word in hopes that I wouldn't see it. Well, I did and started saying/.... please you must get up, you must get up,.....

    he quickly got up, took off his shoe, and killed the bug. MY HERO!!!!! That was the sweetest thing ever.

    This isn't entirely sweet but at the time I thought it was because I was intoxicated . . . Now I just think it's funny.

    I met my ex at a bar, and my friends and his friends ended up partying together.  Towards the end of the night it became clear that we were going to hook up so we took off and went to his friends house, which was empty. Unfortunatley it was also locked, but he crawled in through the window and unlocked the door for me.  For some reason at the time I thought it was really sweet he didn't make me crawl in the window?????  My standards are now a little higher haha.

    DH and I knew eachother in highschool but never dated and lost touch when he graduated (he's two years older). We ran into eachother at a bar years later and had a nice time dancing together. Every hour or so, the bar would break from playing hip-hop and would play a classic rock song, like "Don't Stop Believing" or "Sweet Caroline". DH's friends called it "Rock Set".

    Future DH asked me to go on a "real date" a week later, and when he came to pick me up, he had made me a mix CD of 'Rock Set' songs (this was 9 years ago, so CDs were still cool). After that date, I had to leave to go back to school, and a few days later, I got a package from him with a framed picture we took on our date with a note that said "I always want to remember that night, and I hope you do too."

    Totally knew I was going to marry him after that!

    These stories are so entertaining!  My husband and I went to college together, we were friends for awhile before dating.  And when we did start dating, we didn't actually go on dates (since we were financially strained as college kids).  The first date we went on was 4 months into our relationship.  He took me to the Empire State Building and told me he loved me.  It was so cute to me.  I'd never been with someone who tried so hard to be thoughtful with a moment that would be remembered forever.
