urgh... i want to say one, but i am afraid of being offensive because it is such a common thing to see nowadays...
@KatyElle: Lol at first I thought you meant tiara. Excuse me, I gotta charge my brain up to normal speed, thank you.
I haven't been to very many weddings at all as an adult. Now, that my wedding is approaching I'd like to know too. Not that I'd change what I'm doing because of others opinions but just to see what others think.
I don't think tacky is the best word to use but everyone is entitled to their own opinion...
I agree on subjectivity. What you consider tacky could even turn out to be cultural. If I were a traveler who follows tradition, I would be offended. To each their own.
@KatyElle: *runs to David's Bridal to return her tiara*

I still plan to rock my tiara. LOL
On the other hand, the tackiest thing I have ever seen at a wedding in a falling down, drunken bride. No way around it, it was tacky with a capital T. It showed me that sober is the way to go, for sure.
@mrsbruff2b: I'm sorry, but some of the things I've seen on that show are tacky, no two ways around it. The grinding, teenage girls in slutty dresses, cussing up a storm... what a trainwreck.
I personally don't care what people choose to discuss, but the OP seems to be new and might not know her way around the updated ToS here:
" Please do not post threads for the sole purpose of criticizing, mocking, or otherwise disparaging others’ wedding, waiting, or nesting choices. Weddingbee is a diverse community with members across the globe. No single culture is better than any other, and we value every member’s perspective. Sometimes just wording something differently can prevent an otherwise useful thread from being closed.
I just bought a tiara yesterday, mines is small and will be worn further back on my head with a volume up do. I don't think they are tacky at all, unless super huge.
@joymarie83: Lol don't worry, rock your tiara! We were just joking around cuz I'm so slow! I want a tiara too if I could.
I don't know about tacky, but it makes me UNCOMFORTABLE when the garter toss gets a little wild. I just immediately think about everyone's grandma's, haha! I once saw the groom *smell* the garter when he took it off....AGH! The bride was just as horrified.
I can't mention one of the things that makes me cringe, since I know a lot of Bees on here think it's an awesome idea, so I won't. However, I was watching "Four Weddings Canada" 2 weeks ago and the decor included....inflatable green cacti (yes, there was more than one cactus). So, if I had to use the T word, I would consider it in that situation.
I think it's hoprribly tacky/trashy when the groom gets out of control getting the garter. Like, don't come "up" wiping your mouth. Gross. My grandmother would have a heart attack.
I also worked with a girl who received a wedding "invitation" that was handwritten on a piece of notebook paper. The edges were all scraggly from a spiral notebook and the couple taped a picture of themselves to it, photo-copied it, and physically stuck them in the guests' mailboxes. No envolopes, no addresses, no stamps, no computers .... and I'm pretty sure they were drunk in said photo.
Classy huh? lol
Just watch that redneck wedding show. Tackiness abound. An altar made of beer cans? Really?
This violates the TOS, I have flagged this thread.
Per the TOS "
" Please do not post threads for the sole purpose of criticizing, mocking, or otherwise disparaging others’ wedding, waiting, or nesting choices. Weddingbee is a diverse community with members across the globe. No single culture is better than any other, and we value every member’s perspective. We reserve the right to remove such posts as necessary."
What you find tacky someone might like.
The priest at a Catholic ceremony telling everyone that the female is the weaker sex and that she needs her husband to help her be strong. Healso asked the to be hubby if she ever made him cry and how long he planned to be married. Among other weird things like a sermon about penguins and condoms...Totally 'tacky'
But other than that I can't think of much that turkey was horrendous. Maybe stuff I wouldn't do.
The previous posters were correct, this thread is in violation of the TOS and I'm going to close it now.

I once saw a bride who thought she was a princess Barbie doll. She wore a 'crown' that was about 30cm in height, had a huge puffy dress with a 30 meter train. She looked very similiar to Katie Price at her wedding.
Here's a pic of Katie Price as a bride: http://www.clicktonight.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/jordan.jpg
