My purse is a bottomless pit of mess and papers. It's huge, too, which means I lose everything in the bottom of it. Basically, I can carry a 1.5L water bottle in there with no problem. But my weirdest things are:
* Silly Putty
* 2 box cutters
* A leather cord
* An alcohol wipe
I use a Vera Bradley tote bag for my purse/work bag. The weirdest thing I have in there besides binders, my planner, my wallet and a book is a toy from a McDonald's Happy Meal. It's Simon from the Alvin and the Chipmunks. I got a Happy Meal the other day and threw it in there.
I have some really odd things right now:
-a box of thank you notes
-a dewormer pack (for horses)
-three bottles of nail polish
I love big purses! I work as a nanny and the kids are out of the age group where you need a diaper bag when you go out, but there's still always stuff I need to take with me for them. I have to clean my purse out pretty often, because I always tend to through random things into it. I recently cleaned it out, so right now the weirdest thing I have in my purse are lactaid pills for my bf. We are addicted to ice-cream, so I pretty much just leave a few lactaid pills in my purse at all times, so if we're ever out and want something sweet he can have it. :-)
When I cleaned out my purse last I found a still wrapped smashed up granola bar, a diaper (clean, hopefully that was assumed!), a carnation instant breakfast packet, and a hair bow.
a wad of old movie ticket stubs, from new moon all the way back to pirates of the carribean! luckily my purse is really small, so I can't fit too much in there!
a bunch of plastic sandwich baggies! haha, i take one filled with pistachios to work everyday and then throw it back in after lunch and repeat. I need to clean it out!
These are hilarious!
The weirdest thing I have is three bottles of Visine. It's weird because I keep forgetting it's in there, then put more in, so I found three bottles with three expiration dates!! (2004, 2007, 2009!!!) Clearly I don't use it so why do I keep putting it in there??
right now... a oxygen regulator/valve and mask
the O2 reg/valve thingy and mask is because hubby was teaching a scuba rescue course today and of course he puts everything in my bag when we went to lunch instead of putting it back in the O2 kit where it belongs
i should be thankful he didnt try to shove the O2 bottle in there as well i guess
haha, these are hilarious! i don't have anything weird in my purse. i carry a small purse to help keep my collecting habits in check. i can't put random things in there if they don't fit!
4 wine corks my FI put in there during our wine tasting trip last weekend. We are collecting them for placecards. How sad is it that I only noticed them in the bottom of my giant purse last night?
i always carry with me the bracelet the hospital put on my daughters arm when she was born...
A pack of cigarettes. I don't smoke.
I have like 9 pens and a highlighter. Seriously. Who needs 9 pens?
Also, a map of the forgotten coast of florida (that is a year old!), a bunch of duck-shaped mints (I collect rubber ducks, and got some, but they fell out the other day).
I think that's it! Before I cleaned it out recently, top prize would have been a random book--a while back, we were collecting old books for our centerpieces. I like to be "green" and not use plastic bags so i just put it in my purse and forgot about it. Uhh, heavy! Also, I had no intention of reading this book, so it truly is random
I have a high school ID tag! It makes me laugh a little every time I see it - it's because I'm working with a student at a local high school this semester for a class, and I have to have it to get in the school - but it's totally random, lol
haha.... I change purses so often that I don't have a lot of mess going on. Right now... maybe the wad of chinese money that's still in my wallet even though I've been in the States for almost a month?
A tape measure! - I'm a costumer and constantly need to know what something measures, but everytime someone sees it in my purse I get weird looks!
Tiny use-once make up brushes that I grabbed from Sephora to use on a holiday a few months back... Obviously, they haven't been used and are still in my handbag.
It kind of random and weird, but hubs made me cry the other day and I was on my way out the door so I still had to look good...
Prep H for the bags under my eyes after the crying episode. Yea, the sad thing is it's still in there...lol.
oh and a couple random Taco bell sauce packets.
Miss Lily -- does Prep H really work for eye luggage? I thought it was an old wive's tale.
I also love big purses. I use large totes to carry my school books and binders on campus rather than a backpack (horror)! There is nothing weird in mine, though. Since I switch bags frequently enough, only the essentials go from one to the other.
@ Amaryllis I have found that it makes my eyes look much less puffy...especially after crying.
I don't use my purse often, but there's an ipod charging cord that I've been looking for. Score! Thanks, KMSull, for starting this thread! ;)
In my backpack, the weirdest thing is a rolled up, cut off tube of a tube-sock. I use it to make my hair perfect when I'm in uniform. I guess I took it out after PT on Wednesday and left it there!
I am def a purse minimalist. I guess the weird thing would be my fork and knife (I bring them to work for lunch!)
Half a mounting bracket for a light fixture. Not sure where the light fixture is. (Ahhh the joys of being an interior designer engaged to a contractor...)
About 1000 reciepts. Probably a toy mouse our kitten hid for me, they're everywhere.
The weirdest thing in my purse would have to be my winning lottery ticket - I won a dollar!
I love this post - honestly i don't know how I find ANYTHING in my purses. I have a lot, and I switch them out often....but they are all huge!!! DH never waits for me to find my keys in "the black hole" :)
The weirdest thing I think I have in there is a pamphlet on the sinking of the Atocha ship (picked it up in Key West at the Mel Fisher Museum....a year ago!!!!). Also, for some reason I have a combination screwdriver, knife, flashlight doohickey....if you knew me, you'd know I have absolutely NO use for this contraption! :)
I don't think anything I carry in my purse is weird. When I was younger, I carried a toddler's backpack as a purse, and had just about any and everything in it.
I've since downsized, and I guess the most "unusual" things are my tape measure/level/notepad and a universal remote.
The tape measure came in handy one day when I fished a woman's earring out of a gutter.
@Sarbear, ME TOO! I have one of the girl chipmunks from the Squeakuel (which is my new favorite word). Nothing like being at work or in line somewhere, digging around for my wallet, and having that thing shuffle its way to the top...!
A tape measure, a fiber one bar, and a number ticket from Chinatown we got while waiting for dim sum are in my purse now. These are actually pretty tame compared to some other things I've carried around in my small purse. A pair of channel locks, a bra (not mine), and a VHS of a muppet movie taped off tv were probably the strangest long term residents (at different times), trying to be returned to their proper owners (I'd usually forget about them until I got back home). But they always seem to come to the top when you're checking out at the grocery store.

I have a spoon...I think it is from when I took yogurt to work the other day but that was like a month ago. Its clean but its just hanging out in there getting to know my soft lips chapstick and my obsessive collection of pens.
I'm waiting for someone to have something absolutely INSANE! Or something that they might not normally cop to, like LSD or a hamster.
Not as weird as most but I have a bottle of flintstones vitamins in my purse. They are my prenatal vitamins...
Actually since i have become preggie, my purse has become my medicine cabinet...
Hah, fun post! Well, I just looked in my purse & I guess the weirdest thing I have right now is a mold of my top teeth!! Haha, it's where I had whitening trays made @ my dentist, and I had lost the trays - so now I'm keeping the mold in my purse for the next time I go to the dentist, they can just re-make it! People who see that may think it's weird!
