I haven't completed the registry yet, but FI and I have lived together for so long that we can't possibly think of any household items we need (other than perhaps a vacuum) so we are registering for a crash pad to go bouldering/rock climbing on our honeymoon and otherwise just donations to the Humane Society, American Heart Association, etc.
We registered for a frisbee and racquetball set. Oh and a tent!
@MrsE.ToBe : That is an awesome gift for a New England bride! If I was coming to your wedding, I'd get that ;)
I don't think we've registered for anything too crazy. I did register for a beehive shaped cake pan cause it was adorable and my sister teased me about it. I've also gotten teased about a creme brulee set (but creme brulee is sooo good!). I merely mentioned that I thought "onion goggles" actually seemed like a good idea when we were registering, not that I actually registered for them, but FI has teased me about it for months!
umm I'm pretty sure it is a snow blower. That's what they are called here in MN at least.
@soonerpsych: those are cute! i like giving things i can picture couples using together=)
@riley jane: is that a promise?? you may just get an invite in that case;) lol! i think onion googles would be a fabulous idea if they worked! i'll have to look into them=)
I can't think of anything too off the wall that I think is crazy. However, we did register at Sears so FH could register for tools that we will need to do projects around the house. No one other then my mom or me has got anything off of it yet though. I know some people think it is odd that we registered for tools.
I want onion goggles! Haha! I think the oddest thing we registered for was a chinnois. Not out of place in a professional kitchen, but not something most people are familiar with.
@Toffee: i had to google 'chinnois', i had no idea what it was! i imagine if you wanted one, you must be an excellent cook!
@Toffee:We registered (and got) one!
@MrsE.ToBe : Haha, I didn't know what they were at first either, but my soon-to-be husband really wanted one.
@nmsoonerbride: That's so cool that you got one!
Dog toy chest from bed bath and beyond and a rifle for my husband. It was the only thing he wanted.
Probably our get away car, honeymoon suite or "Shoes Under"!
We got all 3, but I think we had to get the car & "Shoes Under" ourselves. My ex gifted us the hotel room, which was the weirdest part I guess!
@riley jane: I LOVE that -I posted that on WB a while back!
I have a huge creme brulee set -my 1st attempt yielded vanilla pudding. :)
I die. Onion goggles -they make these?? I am considering these...I wear sunglasses when I chop onions. I guess I AM a science teacher, so I could just bring lab glasses home.
@MrsE.ToBe : I've heard thrower and blower, we call 'em blowers in these parts.
@MrsE.ToBe : Good old "As Seen On TV" -the name makes me laugh. It's a divided canvas underbed box for shoes.
@Toffee: I just googled chinnois. Oh yeah - I have like 6 of those -helps me make vanilla pudding, I mean creme brulee. Just kidding...I cannot cook!
@eileen marie it is great! We got it in white but this is what it looks like. Bed Bath and Beyond!
@MrsE.ToBe : We registered for (and received) a PS3. My finace insisted on registering for it, and I was convinced no one would actually buy it, but they did! I have yet to use it, but I guess since I got our china, it's only fair for him to have a wedding "toy" too!
@LindaB: a ps3, that's funny! i'm soooo not telling FI someone got to put one on their registry, lol! was it a friend of your FI that bought it??? we have a Wii & like to play together on it- love 'just dance'=) so i can see how someone would think that could be a fun gift for the two of you. my FI wants to put a power rack on ours (for those non exercise addicts- like myself, lol, a power rack is a piece of work out equipment), i've said no to the power rack thus far- but if the list gets low, i may let him throw it on our amazon one... really i doubt anyone would buy it
@MrsE.ToBe : It was a group of our friends that bought it. When we opened it I was like "seriously? that's what they decided to buy?", haha, but he was thrilled! Don't be so sure that someone's not going to buy you something like work out gear, if it's on there apparently it's fair game!
Well, FI loved registering and that gun. When I got home and looked at the list we had to revise just a bit - but the oddest thing he scanned - a few giant bags of Combos.
Haha... I actually put a video game system (Wii) on our registry! My fiance is much more "domestic" than I am, so he was the one who selected all the kitchen-type stuff.

today i told my mom we had put a snow thrower (i always thought it was snow BLOWER, but amazon has taught me otherwise!) on our registry. if i was a guest at a wedding in new england, i would love to give someone a snow thrower- every time it snowed they'd be SOOO happy! she thought it was a little unusual, but a great idea.
what's the weirdest/most unusual thing you registered for??? did someone get it for you?
