I think mermaid dresses are pretty popular right now.

ETA: And one shoulder dresses.

@asscherlover:  I was also about to comment that the mermaid/fitted and flare out style is very trendy right now. Indicative of the time period I should say.

I also think ruffled skirts are and perhaps also huge tulle poofy ballgowns.

I would say ruffles as well.  My bridal consultant actually tried to talk me out of the ruffled skirts because she said that years from now when I look at my wedding pictures it will feel dated.  She said I should go with something more “timeless” like a lace dress.  I did not listend to her.  Got me some ruffled mermaid dress.  If I hate my pictures years from now because ruffle is only a fleeting trend, so be it.  I LOVE IT NOW.

@RunnerBride13:  Lol yes. And I love the Lazaro with the huge poofy tulle skirt (seriously dream dress) but it is very trendy nonetheless.

I think straps/sleeves are more popular now than when I started looking a year or two ago. They were hard to find then, now there are all kinds of dresses coming out that are not strapless.

Yep fitted and sweetheart necklines. And blingy sashes!

@Treeline:  I wouldn’t say that’s trendy though. That’s more going back to a more traditional/classic look, which became more fresh with Kate Middleton displaying it in a way that didn’t look “grandma.” However, sleeves are indicative of a different era so they aren’t really trendy.

i agree with all the pps. i think the 4 things that will be most indicattive of a 2010s bride will be 1, fit n flare or mermaid. 2, ruffles, 3, blingy sashes, and 4, birdcage slash fascinator veils.
