I didnt order from them, but they’ve got TONS of reviews on their site with pictures. So I lean towards trusting them more than I would other China shops.

I ordered bridesmaid dresses from light in the box and I was really happy with them 🙂

I have ordered quite a few evening/formal dresses from them and a number of other thigs and have never had a problem. But if ordering dresses go for the custom size option. Most of the bad reviews seem to be about the standard size ordering.

@Jilliebean1:  Great, glad it was helpful! Here are some pics of how it turned out for the wedding:

I’m not sure I’d trust them much at all. I was convinved last night that I was going to buy a gorgeous dress I saw for less than $300 on their site (a beautiful Watters replica) but after much research, I’m staying far away. If you do a search for light in the box on the bee, you’ll find horror stories as well as some success stories. They apparently delete reviews below 4 stars and have shady return policies. They also use cheaper fabrics than advertised a lot of the time.

I just saw a review from a bee this morning about her dress being half ivory and half white! What a horror. Here’s the pic:

If it’s just a head band or something, go for it, but I’d stay away from pricier items involving fabrics. It really bummed me out because I was really looking forward to the Watters Norma replica for under $300 but I just can’t trust it.

I ordered a veil, it looks like it would be great with my dress and it was $20, so it’s no real loss if it’s terrible. I don’t think it will be though. I saw a lightinthebox dress that had been donated and it was beautifully done.

Light In The Box doesn’t have a centralized production facility. They are a company that contracts out to multiple smaller workshops in China, and so the hit-and-miss aspect is because it depends on who actually produces your order. I don’t know how their quality control works, but that explains why some people have excellent results with LITB and others are disappointed.

The only problem is with returns!! Be 100% sure of what you want, because you cannot return. They do not follow their return policy.

I bought a fur shawl for my winter wedding off Lightinthebox.com. It was $20 and it is exactly as they describe it. Because it is fake fur it sheds a little but I am just going to wear it around a little so it doesn’t shed too much on the day. It was what I was looking for at the right price. Shipping was also super fast as some PP have mentioned!

Update, the veil is terrible. Got what I paid for, I guess. Now wary of lightinthebox.com and hoping I can get a refund!
