@figgnewton:  Wait, I’m curious. What happened?

EDIT: Does it have something to do with this maybe?

She admitted to using the N-word a lot, making racist jokes, wanting to dress black waiters as slaves for her brother’s wedding, and other shameful things.

Yeah she’s pretty much a huge massive racist.  She isn’t sorry about it either.

She’s a racist. Among other things.

I never really liked her and usually sided with Anthony Bourdain when they would bitch about the other. Her accent and persona are fake and she has recipies for several thousand calorie meals (because nothing is better than an hamburger that uses Krispie Kreme doughnuts for buns) while also advertising a Type 2 diabetes drug.

I wouldnt call being upset with someone bc they openly admit to using racist words as “hatin.”

Ok yeah I just read the majority of the deposition that ensued and it’s not pretty.

Yikes! I knew my man Bourdain hated her, but I didn’t know she’d actually *done* something.

TBH, I think the media is just taking this and running with it.  She is an older southern lady, who admitted to using that word before and understands now how distasteful it is.  Don’t buy her stuff/watch her show,  simple enough. She is doing more harm by addressing it,   because nothing she says will be enough at this point.

*I’m not speaking for every Texan everywhere*, but I will say that I hear the “N” word used casually around here more than anywhere else I’ve ever lived. When I came here from the Pittsburgh area after college it was incredibly shocking to me. I remember refusing to wait on a couple of tables I heard using that word when I was a server, and they couldn’t understand why. I agree with the articles comment about how when someone uses racist language the blame is often put on the offended party for being sensitive and not on the person using it. Not cool.
