Just curious.
Husband and I are shockingly enough agreeing on first names but not middle. I'm torn between common, unique or family names.
We are using my DH dad's first name as a middle name. We just haven't decided on a first name yet.
We have decided that if we have a girl we will use Lillian for her middle name (DH's g-ma) and Cesar for the middle which is DH's middle name and his Dad's first name.
Lots of family names. Thats what I'm leaning towards too. None of them flow well....how important do you all think the flow of it is?
My daughter has my sister's first name for a middle name. If we have another girl, it will have my other sister's first name for a middle name. The middle name we picked for a boy (if our daugher had been one) was the same as Mr. Cannon's middle name.
We chose to go w/ my middle name, Lynn. I wanted something that had some kind of meaning.
I think it will be a family name, his family has a tradition for the first boy to have the father's first as their middle. And then for a girl I would like her middle name to be his maternal grandmother's first. She recently passed away and I miss her- even though it will be another 6-7 years before we have children I still want to honor her memory and I think we will have the next great grandchildren of hers.
We used my FH middle name that he goes by, Clarke, for our son's middle name.
We are passing on our own middle names. Ann for a girl, and Owen for a boy. Ann is my middle name, my mom's middle name, and his mom's middle name. It is also his sister's and her daughter's middle name too! And all are spelled without an "e"!
Owen is his dad's middle name and his. I believe it may have been his grandfather's too.
All our children will have my last name as their middle names.
I don’t have children but I have thought about it. For my future male children I am using my brother’s names (Dustin, Lee, and Michael). I was adopted and have not seen them in about 7 years. For my future female children I want to use flowers. (Daisy, Rose, and Lily)
For a boy it will be DH's first name (which is a family name) for a girl it will be my sisters first name.
Michael and Amanda
We were opposite. We knew what we wanted the middle name to be, but couldnt agree on a first name. Our sons middle name is James. Its FI's middle name and both of our grandparents first names. We finally decided on Brayden James.
We're doing family names for the middle name. I felt strongly about doing this and steamrolled my husband. :)
We used family. The first name is his great grandma's, and the middle name is my great grandma's. Rose Helen.
We're using Sierra. It's pretty, I've never heard of it used as a middle name, and it's nobody in the family's name or middle name.
Our 4 children's (HA) middle names will be Jerome, Finnley, Madeline and maybe Alice. Jerome is a family but name the rest of them are just unique names that we came up with.
I'm not pregnant but I've already decided I desperately want Belle as my theoretical future daughter's middle name. As for a boy, I'm not so sure. Haha.
He gets to choose the boy's name, I get to choose the girl.
Girls name - Isabella Ruth R******
Boys name - who knows?
Isabella Ruth has special meaning to me. Isabella is what my late grandmother wanted to name me and Ruth was her middle name. :)
I have a couple first and middle names picked out for each gender. I'm trying to have each child have at least one french name and I'm playing with hyphenating two names (as the middle) if we can't decide. Maybe something like, Francis James-Louis Last Name.
DH's family is related to Lord Byron (the English poet) so all of the men in his family have the middle name Gordon, which was the baptismal name of Lord Byron. We will most likely follow tradition, but add on a second middle name as well, as that is what DH's parents did with all of them. Beyond that, we haven't really thought about it yet.
We chose Grace, which is a common "filler" middle name. It doesn't have any history or personal meaning, we just think it's pretty. Plus it's a virtue that I hope she'll have more of than I did! I'm such a klutz.
If it's a girl her middle name will be Faye (both our grandmother's names). If it a boy it will be Daniel for DH's dad.
If the little Sea Monkey is a girl she'll have my maiden name for a middle name, no idea what her first name will be. If its a boy I'd like to use a family name (my grandma's maiden name, as well as my dad and sister's middle names) for the middle name - Perry. I actually REALLY like the name Bryce Perry for a boy, DH doesn't love it (he says its too feminine) so he keeps saying "at least we are hoping for a girl" haha. He has admitted he knows how heartbroken I would be if it was a boy, so he could never say no to a name I really like.
@prettylizy: hehe, DH's name us Michael and I'm Amanda...they're good names! Lol
Crockett -----Yes like Davey Crockett. He was a real person, not just a fictional character.
Anyway it is my Dad's middle name and his mother's maiden name. I think it makes a very strong boys middle name.
We will be doing two middle names. One from each side of the family. That's what my parents did for the us, and I thought it was neat. It will probably be Bethany Marie and Randall Joseph for their middle names
Our first boy will have DH's middle name, which is Ross. I want to give my daughter a variation of my name and have her middle name be Rae, but DH isn't sold.... but I may end up just saying this is how it is. :)
We strangely had a very easy time picking out a boy and a girl name (not sure which baby is just yet!)
For a girl her name will be Audrey Mae.
For a boy his name will be Noah Cole.
I'm not pregnant, but we do have our girl name picked out:
Kara Sommer LastName - Sommer is my mom's maiden name
We can't settle on a first name for a boy, but we'll probably use my FIL's first name, David, for a boy's middle name.
Our future children's middle names will be
for a girl: Clarisse
for a boy: Bryan
Not pregnant, but if we have a little girl one day, her middle name will be Elaine. That is my middle name and my mom's middle name, so I feel it is appropriate to pass it on :) I hated it when I was little, but I've grown to like it. It flows well with a lot of first names. Not really sure on boy names yet.
My oldest daughters middle name is Lynn after my older sister
my youngest daughters middle name is Elizabeth...which at the time was for her sperm donors sister but since he's a Dbag and she doesn't know him, I just say it's because it's pretty :)
If we have another one ( if the dr will ok it ) a girl would most likely have my middle name Marie
If it were to be a boy it would be Lee after Fi's middle name.
