I plan on spending about $200 on him, around $250 for friends/family.  I hunt down deals though and have been shopping for about 5 months.

We are doing around $200 per family member which includes my mom, dad, his mom, dad, gram, 2 brothers, and sister. it’s our last Christmas before baby comes so we want to make sure everyone has a great Christmas. DH and I haven’t exchanged Xmas gifts in probable 5 years, so this year as one last hoorah I’m planning to spend around $500-$600 on him. Hopefully less.

Christmas is my very favourite time of year and I tend to go a little crazy with it! I don’t have a lot of family in this country and my husband has only part of his family residing in this state so we are able to splurge a little more on the people we have here with us. I’ve already spent over $1200 on him, my parents are in the $1000 mark as are his, we’ve budgeted the rest his family to around $500 ( his extended family do just small gifts) and $500 – $800 on our closer friends

ive also been shopping for months, though we dont have a tight budget, I hate purchasing generic last minute gifts. How exciting! Christmas is approaching fast! 🙂

A lot, but we have many people to shop for. We’ll probably have to cut back next year since we’ll have gone a pretty nice honeymoon vs. our usual long weekend vacation, but this year we put enough aside to do some serious shopping.

I LOVE christmas and buying gifts for people! And wrapping presents by the tree w some wine!

We have to set a budget or else I would buy everyone all the things.

We do about $60 for siblings, $100 for parents, and $150 for each other.

I put $200-500 but am hoping to be on the lower end of that. We have to shop for 10 people — parents, sibling, aunts/uncles/cousins, and we try to get everyone 1 gift in the $20 ballpark. SO and I have really reduced our Christmas buying for each other over the years. We exchange a book, buy an ornament for the tree, and organize a nice date, which probably totals $150. The only thing saving the Christmas budget is that there are no small children in the family yet. Everyone is over the age of 18 so the scale is smaller than when there were young ones.

I love Christmas but I think the buying can get really out of hand. SO’s family wanted to do a Yankee swap — in addition to normal Christmas morning gift-opening — and we declined to participate because it would have upped our spending by $50-100. I felt a little like a Grinch but enough is enough!

My family does Christmas really light, we all have everything we need and none of my siblings have children except for my brother– so it is very much an “adults only” type of Christmas. Mostly we just exchange bottles of wine or whiskey and get to drinkin’ while cooking. We put a limit of $25 per adult person so everyone will get a little something, but I would rather spend the money getting to each other (we all live spread out over the Southest US) than on gifts.

We’re throwing around some more cash than usual this Christmas because we have our new home to furnish. This year, DH and I are only buying for each other and for MIL, so we have more wiggle room than if we had to buy lots of little things for everyone.

So far I’ve spent $1,900 with another $500 or so left to go. Christmas is really huge in our families. Between both sides, my husband and I have 32 people to shop for, not including ourselves.

I’m trying to keep it under $1000. I have my 2 kids, 5 nieces/nephews, my mom and dad, sister and brother in law, 2 close friends, husband and grandparents to buy for.

We buy for my parents, my inlaws, my brother and his wife, my sister and her husband, my husbands brother and wife, 3 dogs, and each other(something usually small)

For all of those people we try and keep it under $500.

This year we have spent more since I made my mom a wedding album and it cost about $150 and I usually only spend about $35 for each of the dogs but I spent about $50 for each of them….

My mom and my FI are December babies. FML.

I’m pretty crafty so it’s a DIY gift year. We have a wedding to pay for so I’m sure everyone will understand haha
