I am just trying to get a feel as to what everyone’s budget is looking like 2011. I feel like I am spending too much. Ah!! Recently married brides, I am sure we would all love your actual vs budgeted price too!!

My original budget of what I wanted to spend was $2000-$3000, it looks like its going to be more of $4000 but thats really just the ceremony/reception.. I really don’t have an exact “budget”, I just don’t want to spend an arm & a leg. I’m trying to pay for as much of it as I can with out help, my dad is paying for the rest of the venue & he will help more than that but I really want to pay for as much as I can on my own.

Right now, we’re set at about $15,000…but really hope to spend less. That is the most we want to spend. *fingers crossed*

We’re shooing for 8K. I’d loooove to come in under. I started a thread yesterday that you may find helpful if you’re looking at trying to budget more, even if you aren’t working with a smaller buget the tips could be helpful!

We’re floating somewhere around $13,000 not including the Honeymoon. Add that and we’re looking at close to $17,000.
My parents are paying for our whole ceremony and reception. FI’s parents are covering the flowers and Rehearsal Dinner and various family members have offered to pay for our cake and my dress (my aunt/uncle and my grandmother). Taking these contributions into consideration, that leaves Fiance and I to pay around $9,000 (including the HM).

originally we wanted to say 10,000 but I am pretty sure we will be at about 12k with EVERYTHING, including honeymoon

We were shooting for 12k…and somehow got up to 38k including the honeymoon 🙁 which is really…really over budget.

Wow $4000 for the Honeymoon. Where will you be going?

How did you get that far off budget? Is this something that is stressing you out or are you ok with it?

we’re going to be over $50k. i’m going to try to keep it down as best i can but i’m going to say we’ll be somewhere around 10-20k over that. it’s a mixture of my ridiculous knack (seriously, it doesn’t matter what i do, what i end up falling in love with ends up being the MOST expensive option) for picking out the most $$$ things, and then there’s some things my parents have decided *NEEDS* to be a part of a wedding. like a good band. they are music people so a good band (usually = very expensive) is a must for them. i’m a pretty big advocate for certain DIY stuff though, and i am an aspiring letterpress printer, so i will no doubt save in all of my paper products. the money is going into flowers, decor, photography, videography, music, and food. honestly i don’t think my dress is going to be that expensive because the styles i have been liking thus far have been on the lower dollar end (shocker) but we will see if that speculation upholds at the bridal salon! haha.

I wanted my budget to be $10,000, and ended up paying $13,000. We had the money, I just personaly like to save, but it wasn’t a huge deal.

We started off aiming for $12,000, but it started to seem unrealistic when we added in all of the things that we wanted with the size of our guest list. We adjusted it to $15000-$16000, but i think we will end up going a little bit over that (that number doesn’t include engagement ring or HM).
I try to keep very careful track of all of the expenses, but I have a feeling when we get closer to the date, last minute things will start to add up. Our parents have surprised us by contributing more than we expected and we ended up paying way less in taxes than we thought, so we have padded it out a little bit. I know the average in somewhere in the mid $20000s, so I feel like we’re still doing okay for what we had originally planned.

Our plan was to do 10k or under, and we are ending up somewhere around 14 or 15k.
If you add in our honeymoon, it would be close to 19k.
We are doing centerpieces ourselves, having a buffet, and not doing favors in an effort to cut costs.
Most of our money is going towards the photography. We got a killer artists to do our wedding. 🙂

Our original budget wasn’t very practical. Our reception venue alone is 8 grand, we were hoping to do a lot of DIY projects and what not. The honey moon that was gifted to us is 8 grand so that’s one thing we didn’t have to pay for. With a lot of saving and a few small loans we have gotten through it. It was a HUGE stress for a few months and I was crying almost every day but everything has fallen into place now (thank god!).

Oh and our tax refund paid off a few venders too (photographer and cake) so that really helped. Everything else, like the small things have just added up.
