LOL awww, they are going to be totally worth it, when you are looking back in 30 years and know you made them yourself.
I DIY'ed my shoes but loved it, have not started any new DIYs yet :)
I feel you on the fabric poms! I am doing fabric and tulle ones and the tulle ones take half the time! But when they are done they look SO GOOD!!
mine is getting my FI to do his part...i found the reading for our perants, formatted them and wrote each of them a letter from "both of us" and one from just me and asked him to write one to each of the parents too...that was 3 months ago!!! i have made every little (and big!) thing in our wedding it wouldnt kill him to thank his parents and my dad for being there for him. i even said if you tell me what to write ill type it and you dont even have to stop playing your video game lol but he keeps saying he will do it!
I know how you feel! My DIY hell was FI's boutonniere! I was making a wire crystal/pearl one and trying to get the wire the way I wanted it drove me batty!! I procrastonated forever and finally got it done with!
My DIY hell was our chuppah (wedding canopy). I hadn't sewn anything since high school. The chuppah was made of a stretchy material, so it was hard to cut it to exact measurements. And I had no pattern for it. In the end, I was very pleased with it, but there was a point partway through when I thought I should just throw it out and start over.

Oh no, sorry to hear about your blade! I'm sure they'll all come out beautifully! My FI is DIY'ing the invitations and SaveTheDates...yeah, we're marrying Oct. 2nd and still no STDs. Oh boy. I would be happy just getting out the invites at this point. I am so angry at the delay I could scream. At this point, I wish we would just order a different set and be done with 'em. I will have to put my foot down if tomorrow brings nadda again. We're doing a disservice to our guests not giving them enough time to plan. Argh.
Thank you all for such the postive words. This weekend just got to be too much. Sometimes it just think I want to have a cheese tray and latex ballons for my wedding :/
But you will love all the personalized touches and other Bees at the wedding will notice your effort! It will be worth it. :)
So far I've only done STDs, thank you notes and rehearsal dinner invites. I am putting off the swirly shaped petal covered aisle decor eventhough it was supposed to be my second project. Just know it will be long and tedious but SO worth it!

I have been making circles for my fabric pomanders forever! Now I need to go to the fabric store to buy another blade for my cutting wheel... because I have worn the old one out. I am so procrastinating getting off my tush and buying another.
I was warned with how long these take but my mom inisted we would be faster at it.
I am starting to realize that the money is often well spent to have someone else do things. :(
