For me and my husband it would be finding a beautiful area and opening up a little B&B or restaurant where we can brew our own beer, grow our own food, and support ourselves by doing what we love
I'm pretty sure that Doctoring really is my dream job. I just wish I could do it a fraction of the time!
I have two - one which I'm working towards.
I want to be a lobbyist and I want to own a vintage clothing/record store. They don't really jive...
I want to own my own paper goods store. I love just about anything to do with paper goods!
For now though, the realistic dream is becoming a graphic designer.
And @layla you want to be a lobbyist?! That's awesome, I totally considered it when I didn't know what to do with my degree. I just don't want to live in DC right now, lol.
@CP - oh yeah! I really think I'd be awesome at it! I lived in DC years and years ago... loved it!. I'd move back but I'd live in Northern VA, or I'd just be a long haul commuting lobbyist!
It used to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World, but I didn't want to get a degree in Science. I got a degree in Communication instead. And then a law degree. And now I'm a wedding photographer, which is awesome! It all works out in the end :)
I wish I could be a professional student!! Then maybe a librarian and a mom. =)
Oooh- I just thought of one. I'd love to be an anthropologist and go to live with various tribes and write about their cultures. Yup! That's what I want to do!
My dream job would be to own my own vineyard. That would be ideal :-)
Okay, well I'll confess one I don't ever really say out loud...
I've always wanted to be a window dresser. Not just like putting clothes on mannequins (although I'd love it), but like making the crazy windows like at the Apple store and Macy's at Christmas.
Honestly, my dream job would be to be a stay at home mom. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be a possibility!
i wanted to be an event designer and planner since i was about 15... and well i'm lucky to say that i opened my business this year!! the working with clients part is fun, the accounting and having to collect money etc, not so much....
before this i was in school for biomedical engineering, then court reporting (graduated and worked for four years), then a brief stint into nursing school...
OMG YES LAYLA I HAD DAYDREAMS ABOUT THAT TOO!!!!! Glad to know I'm not crazy... the window dressing one. I used to think about all the magical wonderlands I'd create at christmas
@laylabelle - OMG i have always thought that would be an amazing job, too!
Ok, good! I never tell people that because I always think I'd get that blank stare and crickets....
Good to know I'm not alone!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEe the window dresser would be sooo much fun!!! I love creating displays etc!! tons of friendors approach me to create displays for their booths etc and i <3 it!
I applied for a job to be a window dresser for Anthropologie and didn't get it. :( Not really shocking, since paralegals don't really do a lot of window dressing, but hey - it was worth a shot!!
Window dressing reminds me of a Will and Grace episode where Jack says that he's going to do the windows and fails, but Grace helps him out...
i'm pretty content with my current job..but I wouldn't mind being a librarian or a zoo keeper. Or to own my own anime/cosplay store, that would be pretty fun :)
I would be a wildlife rehabilitator. I grew up idolizing Joy Adamson!
@queenbecca: OMG a dolphin trainer!!! I would soooooooo love to do that! I've never even seen one in person, but swimming with them is on my "do before I die" list haha
I've always wanted to be am anchor on the evening news. Is it weird that I love suits and stiff hair?
I want to be on Broadway. lol. yeah, Like thats going to happen.
I think wedding/event planner comes in 2nd place!
Lol, Pudding! That is awesome.
I'd love to be a professor. And I'd run a cupcake shop with my best friend. It's always been our dream! And maybe have a role or two on Broadway. And voice the next Asian Disney princess. : )
I want to be a college literature professor. still have a ways to go. :)
My dream job was and still is to work as a nurse, but occupational therapist is a close second.
Something that pays the bills. And is related to what I went to school for, without being too hardcore, but not mindless, and interesting. I'd like it to be interesting.
When I was younger, I wanted to work at a toy company, making odd electronic toys. It still sounds fun, but I need to get over my disdain for electronics... which is pretty funny. Thanks, school.
@marzipanmrs i totally agree with you!!!i think i was born to be a stay at home mom.. lol i mean my mother was always a stay at home mom.. im good at being a housewife.. cookin cleanin taking care of my FI!!
Ok my total fantasy dream job would be to be a Disney Princess at Disneyland, specifically Cinderella. Which is strange because I have a legit phobia of wigs and I can't even get near one without crying. But I swear if I got that job I would get over my fear ;)
My real world dream job is to be a college professor in nutritonal biochemistry, which is what I am hopefully getting my phd in :) :)
@babyboo I had a friend from high school who was Ariel at Disney World, another who used to be Gaston in the Beauty and the Beast show, and another still works there and performs in the Finding Nemo show.
They all went to UCF, which is in Orlando, and makes working for the mouse a bit easier :)
@QueenBecca: That is so AMAZING! I just think it would be a really fun (although tiring) job to have while in school or something. My cousin used to be one of the Mickey's at Disneyland :) You have to be pretty short to fit in the costume and at about 5 feet she fit that requirement :p
For now I just fulfill my fantasy by visiting Disneyland at least once a month, haha.
I would love to be the person who writes the wedding articles in the newspaper (like the guy in 27 Dresses). I would need to really hone in on my writing skills though.
Or possibly a food critic. Yum, Yum.
My ultimate dream job is to be a mom. Sadly, when you tell people that they look at you like you are crazy and make comments about how it's not a "real job." And yes, when they say such things I want to kick them! So, yeah, I just keep it to myself now.
I thought I wanted to be a teacher, so went to school to do that, but I'm pretty sure I no longer want to do that. So yeah, kinda feel lost in a sea of unknown because I have no idea besides wanting to have babies and be an awesome mom.
I'd like to own a home decor/craft store, be a supermodel for a day, work in a French boulangerie or patisserie, train dolphins, be Bella Swan or a surgeon or a wedding planner. I know I sound like I'm 5 years old!
I want to be a stay-at -home wife and mommy... and looks like I will get to do that, cause the FI is on board.. yay for taking care of his needs and him providing for me. :)
@lillindy - I don't think that you need to feel lost... that is a good job to want to do. :)
I have my dream job. I just wish it was normal 9-5 hours.. lol.. cest la vie!
A writer. Specifically, a rich writer who can live off their stories. In the words of (musical version) Jo March, "I'll write great books and earn barrells of money and give you all everything you've ever dreamed of!"
