My ring has 3 bands, One is a 1.57ct princess cut with 3/4 diamonds on the band and some diamonds on the setting and the other 2 bands are 3/4 about .5ct each so equals to about 3.5cts. I absolutely LOVE my ring and thought it was a pretty big size. I'm a petite girl..only 5'2" and lately I've noticed a lot of girls e-rings and their rocks looks HUGE... I thought wearing all my 3 rings together was too bulky for me and now i wear the 2 bands on my right ring finger and the my solitaire princess on my left.

I was just curious to see what the average size ct every state has.

How many cts and state are you from?

I don't think it really has anything to do with states, or cities for that matter.

I live in New York City and my ring is 0.80 carats ;oP

Is it blasphemy that I don't even know how many carats my ring is?

@MissAsB: I hope not, because I definitely have no idea! I got it insured, shoved the paperwork in the safe and forgot!

I'm 1.5 CT total weight. From Las Vegas, NV. When I worked closer to the strip (where casinos are) I always saw the ladies rocking the 3 cts and up. Now that I work further away its about 1-2 ct.

I'm in Philly - My center stone is 1.25 carat princess cut, and the other stones on the band make the total carat weight of my ring 1.75

We did the non-traditional engagement ring, but I'm from MD, we live in PA but my hub is from NJ and just from observation (seen and heard from people) size seems to matter a lot more in NJ than in MD or PA.

@Corgi- mine is similar to yours except mine is a 1.01 ct Princess Cut Solitare + pave diamonds on the band!

I'm not sure what my TW of the pave band is b/c mine is a little different w/ diamonds on all 3 sides of the band.

bvig- yes unfortunately size does matter alot in jersey.. i would say ny too! It's like they sit there and talk about their rings... how big and flawless it is... Sad... but... oh well.. thats how some women are... whatever floats their boats.....

@TobeMrsBear: Her smallest ws 6 carats?  Geez, I would rather spend my money on a vacation or other experiences that having a huge rock on my finger!

I like my rings because they are sparkly not huge!  I would be too afraid to wear a really big ring.  I would think it would make me a target for being mugged or carjacked.

@missasb: I won't have any idea either because it's all up to him to choose.  I think he's looking at around a 6 mm - 8 mm stone (1 or 2 ctw) of the gemstone. and who knows how many diamonds or if it will have diamonds at all???

eta I'm in Louisiana.  At home (TN/Northern MS) it's larger my old ring was 2.16 ctw and we were looking at bands that were about 1/2 ctw or more..

I don't know mine either! I know my first e=ring (from same FI LOL) was a 1.1 princess cut solitaire. I'm not sure what my current ring is - Around 1 carat total?

    I'm in VA...
