LOL @ Honeybun did he give you the first one when you gave him the infamous valentine? LOL great mental picture of a little kid with a 1 "carrot" ring or something!
@kjpugs: HAHAHA now that would be cute!
But no, when he originally proposed to me in '05 he gave me the first ring. Very long story short - we had some issues, I told him to give it back when he was serious. Breakup, moving out, moving back in, and all kinds of other events later LOL, he refuses to give me the original ring back because he swears it's cursed from all the things before. The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life, but whatever!! He sold the old one and got me the new one to re-propose with. Have you ever in your life???? hahaha
@Honeybuns- maybe a new ring for a fresh new start isnt so bad.... Hope everything is well between you guys now!
@ Honeybun sigh! I love your story! It's like a modern princess bride.
@kjpugs: awwwww haha! I really might have to start a blog if you keeping throwing things like that out there!
I am from Utah, mine is .81 carats, but it is a sapphire so it was much less than a diamond. Most girls I know that are getting married (and I know A LOT that are getting married ha ha.) have about a .5 carat diamond center stone. Would you believe here in Salt Lake city 5000 dollars is a large budget for a wedding? :-) We are the cheapskates of the nation.
I'm from Springdale, WA, currently in Portland, OR and mine is a 1/2 carat
Princess cut 0.7ct solitaire in white gold cathedral setting. The wedding band is a channel-set half eternity with 11 teeny little princess cut diamonds adding up to 0.5ct total (but I can't wear that one yet!). We live in Maryland, in the Baltimore/DC/Annapolis area.
His Barista, did you change your avatar? I was really confused for a minute!
REPRESENT TEXAS!!!!!!!!! hehe Even though we're not engaged yet, it's going to be 1.5 carats.
im from nj and mine is 1.28 carats solitaire and it sparkles like no other.. who cares about the size.. just as long as its sparkles!! :)
lol! I thought you meant like, ring finger size! Anyway,
2 carats & Florida
Not sure if I know exactly what the size is exactly. I THINK the jeweler told me that the two side diamonds in my 3 ring setting were... .25ct? Maybe .30ct? My center natural blue sapphire is... .5? or .75ct? I know the lady said my ring was larger then 1ctw. I want to say she said its 1.25ctw...but i am not positive. Well....whatever else it is, my ring is perfect! :D I am from Milwaukee, WI (but I don't think that has any bearing on my ring size. We picked this one because the jeweler gave us an amazing deal we could not turn down! My e-ring and BOTH our wedding bands for $800! yay for walking in during a super awesome sale!)
2.06 carat round solitaire e-ring and 1.1 carat total weight (11 teeny diamonds) in the wedding band.
Really *from* Florida, but we live in Georgia now :)
i don't even know- i just know its big and gaudy. lol. amethyst cushion cut.
i am in michigan
mine's a three stone -- the center stone is 2.5 carats and the two side stones are just under a carat each. it is gorgeous and he explained that he rarely buys me jewelry (true!) so he wanted to buy something extra special for my e ring. plus, i'm going to wear it forever and hopefully pass it on to a daughter! me and my FI are both from nj!
TX - e-ring, center stone is .91 (?) with 12 total side stones, they are family diamonds and good clarity, etc. (aka THE SPARKLY) hehe
I'm tall, and I honestly think bigger rings look better on me, but I care more about quality than size and the special meaning by getting them from my mom.
haha I thought you meant finger size at first too - mine would be 5 lol
Mines a 6 prong (not sure if that style has a special name teehee), about .75. Not sure what I'll do for a band yet. The clarity is awesome, its the most sparkly thing I've ever seen!! Grew up on the west coast, but now from Maine.
Reporting from MA here and I've got a 1.11 carat pink sapphire, princess cut
Hi ladies im from NC and Ihave a 2.5tcw emerald cut three stone... love it!
@KMSull: I don't have a ring, either.... and I'm from California.
I am from CA and in my opinion....the size DOESN'T matter;) Having said that (did anyone see Curb's season finale?) my ring is a little over 1.5cts. It's a round shaped diamond with 38 diamonds on the band (19 on each side). The setting is my favorite part..I just love how it sparkles! I would've been happy with a ring pop, it was the moment and what it represented that meant the world to me!
I'm in CA (Los Angeles). My ring is cushion cut, 1.8cts, and I think the side stones are about .3cts.
1.3something round solitaire and it sparkles like nothing else! My FI said he picked this diamond over a larger one because of it. It also has 30 teeny-tiny diamonds on the shank and around the basket of the solitaire.
We live in DC.
We live in St Louis MO.
My center stone is a round heirloom 1.25c with a round .5c on either side and another .5c of small rounds set in the band. My wedding band has 1c of channel-set round stones as well. So about 3.25 total with both rings.
1/2 carat princess cut solitare, Pennsylvania.
Oh and PS when I read this at first, I also thought this was for ring finger size!
I live in NYC and my center stone is an emerald cut 2.5 carats. 3.16 total with the setting.
I currently live in West Virginia and my ring is a 0.61 carat princess cut solitaire set in a 2mm thin band. I love it!
I don't know the size of mine either. My one and only requirement was that it wasn't diamond. I HATE diamonds. They just seem cold to me. So, I have a fabulous greenish-blue natural sapphire with a couple teensy tiny diamond chips. We picked it for the sapphire not the setting. Oh, and I'm in Albuquerque NM.
Like Miss Rainbow, I thought you meant the size of the ring, not carat. So, I will give you both. My ring size is 4.25, my center stone is princess cut .75 carats and the surrounding stones are ~1 carat. I live in Houston, but I am from GA
