This question made me curious about my own ring and I had to get out the paperwork to check! 2.16 cushion cut center stone with an additional 1.1 carats in the halo and 3 sided pave band here in IL
I'm from MN. I think my ring is like 1.2 - 1.5 carats total weight. The center stone is 0.57 ct, the two side stones are each .33. And then there are a ton of little tiny stones around the sides of the ring too and all over my wedding band.
My center stone is 1.08 carats but there are tiny stones in the setting too. No idea about wedding band yet! I'm from Texas but let my midwestern sweetie pick out the stone. It was all him.
I have a 1.5 asscher cut center stone and I am guessing somewhere between .25/.50 on the side stones, but not sure. We live in VA.
A little over 2ct radiant solitaire, and I live in NYC (both originally from Pittsburgh).
Somebody mentioned earlier in this thread not thinking location has anything to do with but I must strongly disagree. My 2 ct diamond is nothing to write home about here in Manhattan (especially in my office - private equity) but I know it looks huge and out of place when I visit my Pittsburgh friends. Part of it is probably that my Pgh friends all got married right out of college and had less $$ to work with, and FI and I are in our late 20s now, have solid careers and he had time to save, but also definitely a geographical thing.
My center stone is .80 ct asscher with .50 ctw in the pave work, for a total of carat weight of 1.30. I'm from PA
Mine is about .3 ct, and I'm from Maryland. I'd hazard a guess that income has more to do with the size of the stone than location (and personal preference probably outweighs both of those)- both the median income of the area and the income of the person buying the stone.
Mine is a tad over 3 karats and I am from Southern California.
Single round solitaire .75ct. I'm from California. That's small for my area and I actually had a friend comment on it (rude!) but I told the boy I wanted something under 1.0, so he hit the nail on the head. I don't wear alot of jewelry so its perfect for me. :o) I'm probably the only girl on the planet that gave her man a size to stay UNDER.
@sbbridebythesea- haha maybe :) but i gave my guy a general price guideline to stay under which basically meant i knew the max size it could be. i was just very against putting a ring on a credit card.
1.16 center stone and im in VA ;)
