We would need 3.9 planet earths to provide the necessary resources for everyone if we all lived like I do.

Very interesting!

@Ninteenthchance:  3.9 planet earths. so crazy! it looks like i need to eat more locally and not consume as many ‘services’, whatever that is.

that quiz was awesome though, thanks for pointing it out!

I need 4.1 Earths.

But one of the questions was “do you have electricity in your home?”- I mean, who doesnt have that?  Some things I can improve on- I could carpool more, but I am NOT giving up my electricity.

@Ninteenthchance:  yeah, i mean, and we are wayyyy below average – we spend under $50 each on electricity and gas every month. we spend days without using either – it gets HOT in our apartment, too – but there’s just no way to lower it. maybe one day when we have a home we’ll be lucky enough to afford to put in solar panels – maybe – but we can’t get it any lower than it is!

I got 4.7 earths.  That’s crazy to realize!  I probably would have gotten less if they had more options for which car you drive.  FI and I drive an electric car and drive 70 miles per day on our commute, but we usually don’t use any gas doing it.

Haha I win, I’m 6.5 Earths. My pie chart is half Shelter. I guess our house is a huge energy hog. Oh well, I love my house!

3.5, I’m surprised. We recycle everything, buy used, don’t eat a lot of meat, and buy local/organic products. Probably because I drive every day and don’t carpool. Sorry, I can’t do anything about that. It takes me 7 minutes to get to work by car (no, I can’t walk/bike/etc.) and would take probably 2 hours to ride the bus system, if there’s even a stop nearby.

I’m 6.3.  I drive 40 miles roundtrip each day to work, and also fly a fair amount, so my mobility category was the highest…

@eeniebeans:  Actually, a huge percentage of people on earth don’t have electricity at home, and go to their urban centers for internet access. I wonder how many of them actually take the quiz, though?!

My number was 4.2. I travel a lot by plane, so that tipped my # higher!

I think the majority of my score might be based on travelling by public transportation to work every day (even though I consider that a lot better than driving to work every day!!) Also the planes… We go to Europe a lot because my Father’s family all lives there. However, I eat a lot of organic/local foods and we live in a GREEN apartment building. You’d think those would amount to something. It’s crazy how different your score is though if you choose to elaborate rather than give a “simple” answer. My score changed from 5.1 with basic answers to a 3.8 with more elaboration!!
